D.L. Hughley was “flummoxed” by O.J. Simpson’s recent admission that he thinks Colin Kaepernick made a “big mistake” by protesting during the national anthem.

And in true D.L. fashion, the comic had an epic one-liner to emphasize his disagreement.

“I really appreciate what he was trying to say,” Simpson told Buffalo News Friday, March 16. “I thought he made a bad choice in attacking the flag.”

“The flag shouldn’t be disrespected because of what cops do,” he added. “The flag represents what we want America to be.”

Hughley, who pointed out that Simpson had recently been released from prison, wasn’t here for it on the Monday, March 19 broadcast of “The D.L. Hughley Show.”

“Isn’t stabbing two people to death a little bit more disrespectful?” said the comedian in reference to the 1994 murders of Simpson’s ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson and restaurant waiter Ron Goldman. “I would rather take a knee than a knife. How you gonna stand for the pledge of allegiance when you ain’t even stop in the Bronco?”

By the looks of Hughley’s Instagram comments, he had lots of supporters.

“O.J. has no credibility to anything he says,” one person said.

“Put the whole O.J. back in prison,” another wrote.

“F— O.J.’s sell out with his coon shucking and jiving ass,” someone else exclaimed.

“O.J. said exactly what I thought he would,” one user wrote. “Another lost soul.”
