Donald Trump may not need a first lady nearby when a doting aide seems ready to answer his every beck and call.
And rumors suggest Melania Trump has allowed someone else to handle her duties, whatever that may entail.
The president and Natalie Harp, his executive assistant, have become the subject of salacious speculations in recent months.
Harper, 35, is a constant travel companion and believed to be the person most responsible for keeping the 80-year-old’s spirits high.
Nicknamed “the human printer,” the blonde White House staffer purportedly provides Trump with good press all day.
Her prominence in the spotlight correlates, as far as gossipers are concerned, with Melania’s steady retreat from public appearances.
The former Slovenian model last appeared with her husband in July at the FIFA World Cup final.
Before that, she showed face at the Great American Fair Fourth of July event and his White House UFC bash on June 14. The massive event drew hundreds of celebrities and influencers to the South Lawn and around Washington for Trump’s 80th birthday.
People have since revisited resurfaced clips, pointing out the cracks in the Trumps’ marriage that could explain her absence.

The bigger clue remains Melania’s limited public presence, which has fueled questions about her marriage. Critics have noticed it all, from forced smiles to diverted eye contact to her incessant attempts to dodge his kisses.
Now Harp has become part of their narrative.
A montage of video clips shows the first lady refusing to hold hands with Trump at multiple occasions.
A 2020 clip highlighted Melania snatching her hand away. As she continued tightening her grip on her purse, Trump repeatedly reached for it while exiting Air Force One.
All the while, their then-teenage son, Barron, was behind them as his father sought his mother’s affection.

He eventually surrendered. A 2017 clip showed Melania swatting his hand away during a trip to Israel.
Other awkward moments show Trump reaching for affection while Melania keeps her distance. In one clip, he can only extend his pinky toward her. In others, she walks off as he stops to chat with reporters and fixes her hair when he reaches for her hand.
“Natalie would never treat him like this,” read one caption.
One person wondered, “Do you think that Melania pays Nat a little extra to to keep Donnie away?”
Rumors claim Melania receives payment to appear with Trump, but no evidence has confirmed those claims.
Others zoomed in on the obvious rift between the married couple. Those comments included statements like “Open contempt for him. She knows the truth and she will talk at some point when the time is right.”
Another said, “She treats him with quiet but firm repulse, disdain, and glaring hatred in her demeanor. Every time they are together. You can see these in her eyes and body language. The relationships of Trump’s political foes, Barack Obama and Michelle Obama, and Joe Biden and Jill Biden, were also referenced as evidence, further highlighting the stark difference in companionship.
The theories grew wilder when an IG Threads user asked the question everyone wants to know, “Where is Melania?”
Others said safety was likely the deterrent keeping Melania away from the White House and Trump.
“Word is she doesn’t want to be around Donold while he’s being threatened,” according to one speculator.
Trump, the press and staff boarded Air Force One after the NATO summit in Turkey last month. Trump then secretly left the aircraft through a catering container, and boarded a separate jet. Most of his entourage stayed behind as decoys amid a purported Iranian threat.
Melania also skipped the rescheduled White House Correspondents’ Dinner after the original April event ended in chaos. A security breach and a shooting in the hotel lobby left her crawling on the floor to safety.
Whispers of Trump and the first lady’s marital strife prompted someone to say, “Melania would have been left on the decoy plane.”
Security threats targeting Melania and Barron have also surfaced since Trump returned to office in January 2025. Most recently, an Iran-linked video prompted a Secret Service investigation.
