‘They Are Acting Like They Left a Party’: Yung Miami and Keyshia Ka’oir Get Blowback for Sharing Fashion Posts Following Takeoff’s Funeral, Yung Miami Responds

CareshaYung Miami” Brownlee and Keyshia Ka’oir are currently under fire for sharing fashion posts the same day Kirsnick “Takeoff” Ball‘s memorial service took place in Atlanta on Nov. 11.

The reason behind the scrutiny was because many social media users felt that the women’s uploads seemed insensitive given the situation.

Ball, who was a part of the hip-hop group Migos alongside his cousin Kiari “Offset” Cephus and uncle Quavious “Quavo” Marshall, was shot and killed on Nov. 1 outside of a bowling alley in Houston.

As previously reported, the incident occurred a little after 2:30 a.m. at 810 Billiards & Bowling Houston, following a dice game Ball and Marshall were allegedly a part of. Things began to take a turn after an alleged altercation broke out, and an unidentified individual opened fire. Ball was shot several times and died on the scene.

The 28-year-old Ball’s memorial service was held at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta on Frriday, and more than 20,000 mourners gathered there to honor the life of the Atlanta-area native.

The attendees included Quavo, Offset, his wife Belcalis “Cardi B” Almánzar, Aubrey “Drake” Graham, Justin Beiber, Keyshia Ka’oir, her husband Radric “Gucci Mane” Davis, Caresha “Yung Miami” Brownlee and many others.

Following Ball’s service, Ka’oir posted two separate uploads on her Instagram account. One featured a couple of fashion photos alongside images from the funeral program. The other showcased the 37-year-old’s leather ensemble and accessories.

A few hours later, Brownlee took to her official Instagram page and shared various photos of the outfit she wore to the event alongside the caption, “Everyday the sun won’t shine but that’s why I love tomorrow.”

As the posts circulated online, social media users called out both women for being “tasteless” for making what is considered a somber day for many into a fashion statement.

“Yung Miami and that gucci’s wife are weird as hell for them IG pics. They are acting like they left a party as opposed to a funeral Who does that? So tacky, inappropriate and tasteless.”

“Photoshoot after a funeral & posting Glorilla lyrics as the caption with (rocket emoji) knowing that’s the emoji being used for Takeoff is ghetto classless & disrespectful…. Caresha / Yung Miami a bird for that RIP Takeoff.”

“It’s @KeyshiaKaoir having a whole photoshoot at Takeoff funeral…Like girl there’s a time & a place!”

“Keyshia Kaoir and Miami could’ve saved their gram fits for another day fr it’s not the time.”

On Nov. 12, as Brownlee caught wind of the backlash after social media blog The Neighborhood Talk shared the commotion on their page, the “Twerkulator” rapper stood by her photos.

She wrote in the comment section, “I came and showed my support and that’s all that matters! What I choose to do AFTER the funeral has nothing to do with anything!!! When my baby father died I did the same s–t actually I was shaking my ass on the car. What I wear and me taking pics has nothing to do with me COMING TO SUPPORT AND BE THERE FOR SOMEONE WHEN IT’S NEEDED!!! NEXT.”

Ka’oir has yet to respond to the backlash.
