R&B singers Tory Lanez and August Alsina reportedly have been involved in a physical altercation with each other in which Alsina got knocked out.
Gossip site @gossipofthecitytea tweeted a play by play of the situation, stating, “Tory Lanez KO’d August Alsina tonight after August got froggy with Tory over something Tory said months ago. Tory was trying to show him love and August wanted to take it to a negative place & got knocked out!”
In an Instagram post showing him leaning up on a wall with blood on his face, Alsina confirmed their quarrel, stating, “A 4’11 sized leprechaun ran down on me w/ 8 oversized security n—, whom I greeted each individually upon their walk up as they tried to press me.”
The “No Love” singer also went on a rant on Twitter after Lanez had a different view of their encounter, publicly denying any altercation and stating he has been “in the studio” and “not in anything negative” in a since-deleted Instagram post.
Lanez hopped on a phone call with YouTuber DJ Akademics while he was on live and said he, “doesn’t know what this kid is talking about,” referring to Alsina.
He continued, “I don’t know if he’s doing a promo, I don’t know what that n– is talking about.”
Calling out his bs, Alsina insinuated that Lanez attempted to leak their fight as he said, “Y’all wouldn’t ever know about this if he didn’t try to go and leak a story. Me & his people were the only people out there when this happened. But for the sake of story telling.. We gone always stand on truth.”
Alsina revealed his side of the incident, insinuating that Lanez and his people “staged that s—, they had a camera recording the whole time.”
So what prompted this violent encounter? Alsina claimed it surrounded Lanez’ “broken ego” after the “I Luv This S–” singer refused to dap up the “Say It” singer due to Lanez commenting on Alsina’s entanglement with 51-year-old actress Jada Pinkett Smith years back.
Alsina said, “I was a fan of him and didn’t understand him speaking on my business publicly in the past, because I don’t know him or ever met him until last night.”
Alsina is referring to Lanez’ freestyle video of him rapping that if he ever messed with Pinkett Smith he wouldn’t be a “snitch like August,” alluding to the 2020 drama involving Alsina’s relationship with the actress while her and husband, Will Smith, were experiencing an open marriage.
While both men have very different perceptions of what transpired, fans have rallied up against Tory Lanez denying becoming violent and beating up Alsina.
