Wendy Williams is coming back to the airwaves sooner than later. It’s been a few days since any trace of “The Wendy Williams Show” has been wiped from all social media and online platforms. Fans were upset about not being able to rewatch episodes of the popular long-running series. But now the beloved talk show host is taking her talents from the television screen to a podcast.
On Wednesday, July 6, Wendy created a new Instagram page under the name @thewendyexperiencepodcast, which could be the title of her podcast. The first post was a four-second video of Wendy sitting in front of a laptop in her house.
“Doing a Show, Not a TV Show. Sorry, it is a WENDY EXPERIENCE! STAY TUNED!,” she wrote in the caption, adding the hashtags #wendy #experience #new #vibe #fabulous #beginnings.
The second post was shared on Thursday, July 7, featuring a photo of Wendy smiling while lying on a couch. The 57-year-old wore a black shirt, shorts, tights and a Louis Vuitton sneakers for the photo. In the caption, she wrote, “When one door closes, a BIGGER one Opens! Last Day on SET!”
Fans have patiently awaited Wendy’s return, including many who wrote, “Go Wendy!” in the comments section. Although she will no longer be on daytime television, a handful of viewers are looking forward to hearing the former radio host on another platform.
One person wrote, “YES!!! From Queen of daytime talk to Queen of podcasts #wendyexperience.” Another who mentioned her signature tagline said, “Seeing that #smile is everything. Can’t wait to hear what she’s been up to and her new ventures. How you doin’?!?!?” Here’s what others had to say.
“Can’t wait to tune in….they can’t erase your legacy!”
“We are going to miss you on tv but deff podcasts are the new thing now. So excited. #teamwendy.”
“Here for it!! You were a part of my daily routine for years!!! Wake up, prayers, coffee, and Wendy!!! I love me some you!!!”
“Rooting for u Queen! Let’s go!”
“Let me tell you something …you are A FORCE! Queen.”
It’s been a rough few months for Williams, who has dealt with criticism and ridicule from her peers as well as from viewers who have watched “The Wendy Williams Show” for over a decade. She’s also battled with ongoing health issues, which led to her revealing her lymphedema condition during an interview with TMZ on Tuesday, June 28.
“I can only feel 5 percent of my feet,” she said while holding up her enlarged foot. “Do you understand? Which means normally I would be in a wheelchair,” she said. “I’m not in a wheelchair. I stand up.”
Wendy believes she’ll “make more money” doing a podcast than she did filming her talk show. She was attracted to doing a podcast as it allows her to work from anywhere in the world. “Where will I go? I’m not sure,” she said. “Europe. You know…the France. Wherever I want to go.”
