‘I Can Only Feel 5 Percent’: Wendy Shows Her Swollen Feet, Says She Should Be In a Wheelchair Due to Her Lymphedema

Wendy Williams is ready to launch her upcoming podcast with the world. Due to ongoing health issues, she missed months of appearances on “The Wendy Williams Show.” Several guest hosts filled on the long-running talk show, including Sherri Shepherd, who replaced Williams and possibly her time slot with, “The Sherri Shepherd Show.”

However, the former radio queen told TMZ hosts Harvey Levin and Charles Latibeaudiere that she has since removed herself from daytime TV life. She has enough money that she said she wanted to do something “I’ve never done.”

“Which by the way, podcast which everyone has but when you’re famous, podcast will make more money for me being famous than doing ‘The Wendy Williams Show.'”

The 57-year-old was attracted to the flexibility of a new career which takes place out of an office, off any set, and into the world.

“Where will I go? I’m not sure,” she wondered. “Europe. You know…the France. Wherever I want to go.”

The author and TV personality said her podcast is in “partnership” with her manager, Will Selby, as previously reported. She said the two are working with “a certain person” for the “beginning” stages of the podcast.

On how it feels launching her first podcast show, Wendy said, “I can’t wait to fall in love.”

When asked what will be “different” compared to her television show, the heels-wearing diva said, “Maybe sneakers. You know I’ve been on HSN and QVC. Correct? Maybe I’ll do something with that or something else. You know I have lymphedema?”

She then held up her enlarged foot with pink painted toenails to show Levin and Latibeaudiere. “I can only feel 5% of my feet. Do you understand? Which means normally I would be in a wheelchair,” she said. “I’m not in a wheelchair. I stand up.”

Wendy Williams is known for her “shoe cam” segment on “The Wendy Williams Show,” where the audience and viewers get a glimpse of what stylish shoes herself and her guests wear. However, the former talk show host has been public about her foot diagnosis for years. In 2019, she revealed to her audience she had lymphedema after paparazzi shared images of her swollen ankles.

“Lymphedema by the way, I’ve been diagnosed,” Wendy said at the time. “It’s not going to kill me, but I do have a machine. And how dare you talk about the swelling of it all.”

According to Mayo Clinic, lymphedema is the condition that allows tissue to swell in the arms, legs, abdomen or neck. It’s caused by “an accumulation of protein-rich fluid that’s usually drained through the body’s lymphatic system,” as stated on their site. “Any type of problem that blocks the drainage of lymph fluid can cause lymphedema.”
