‘You Gone be Mad’: Tami Roman Shares Cryptic Post Clapping Back at Fans Concerned About Her Weight Loss

Rumors about Tami Roman’s weight have plagued the reality star since she was on “The Real World: Los Angeles” in 1993 and had her jaws wired shut to lose weight. Now decades later, “The Ms. Pat Show” star’s noticeably thin appearance has concerned fans. Many people want to know why is Tami Roman so skinny.

Despite everyone’s concerns, the former “Basketball Wives” star says she is not sick. “I’m extremely thin because that’s what I felt I had to be in order to be beautiful and every day is a challenge,” Roman told EURweb.

On occasion, Roman will gather a fan for making remarks are jokes about her weight. The Shade Room captured one incident on Roman’s Instagram Story post on June 9, when she hit back at a fan who called her “skinny.”

“The Ms. Pat Show” star shared a picture of herself rocking a black HARRY HALIM Paris dress with a high slit paired with black ankle strap high heels. Along with the picture was the caption,”OMG you so skinny. Now if I say, ‘OMG you a BIG B—H, You gone be mad,” followed by several laughing-crying emojis.

The 50-year-old actress discussed her struggle with Essence Magazine last November and shared that along with body dysmorphic disorder, she was also diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. Roman said that managing both issues causes her weight to fluctuate. She also shared that being insulted for being too skinny reaffirms her body disorder.

“You couple that with the disorder and it’s a hard thing to manage. People don’t understand what it is to be a person with this disorder, particularly dealing with the weight issues,” said Roman. “They leave negative comments, or what they feel are negative comments, but for me, my mind has such a warped sense of perception, it’s a compliment. ‘Tammy you look too frail. Tammy you look like a bobblehead. Tammy you look skinny.’ In my mind that goes, ‘Well, I’m on the right track! I’m getting skinny!’ And then I don’t know when to stop.”

Roman wanted to be a model and said being told by a modeling agent in New York that she was too fat, had saggy breasts and back folds when she was 13 was the beginning of her body image issues. She said she tried everything to be skinnier even though she was already thin.

“I didn’t know what it was. I didn’t know how to deal with it. I just knew ‘Well I’ve got to get skinnier. I’ve got to make myself smaller. I want to be a model,” said Roman. “I started abusing laxatives, I started not eating, I started throwing up — I started doing everything I could think of to do to be as skinny as I could possibly be, being obsessive about my weight loss. People don’t realize, that’s why I got my mouth wired in 1993, to be skinny when I was already skinny.”

She also opened up about her body struggles on “The Real.”

Instagram users replied to the post and agreed with the actress about body shaming and trolling. Comedian LaLa Milan co-signed the post with, “Whew! I been saying this all my life.”

Fans agreed and left supporting remarks in the comment section. “Period. Y’all love speaking on people’s bodies and don’t have a clue what they may be going through. Shut up!”

“She’s right cuz mind ya business,” echoed another fan. “Right!!! people think skinny insults are acceptable THEY’RE NOT. Stop talking about people’s bodies,” added another.

One fan joked she could hear Roman’s voice while reading the post. “Why can I hear her saying that?”
