‘Who Made You an Expert?’: Steve Harvey Says Michael B. Jordan Has to Earn the Comedian’s Relationship Advice, Fans Criticize Harvey’s Logic

Steve Harvey has plenty of advice on relationships, but he won’t be freely dishing any to his daughter Lori Harvey’s beau, actor Michael B. Jordan

The doting lovebirds have yet to hit any public relationship obstacles, but that didn’t stop the comedian’s fans from wondering what advice he would give Jordan. Harvey has been outspoken when it comes to his thoughts on all things relationships, whether platonic or romantic, hence his best-selling book “Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man,” and the successful films derived from the book. But when it comes to Jordan, the comedian says the “Creed” star is on his own.

“Really none. I mean I’m not going to help him. You know he’s going to have to earn it,” said Harvey while fielding fan questions with E! News. The host extraordinaire continued with praise for Jordan — something he has done since the couple became official. “He’s a really nice guy. He’s very respectful, family’s really great, he’s from a great family,” he said. “I know his father personally. It’s going good for them. You know, relationships are hard, especially they young and they’re in a Hollywood type relationship. I’m cheering for them.”

While Harvey has had his fair share of relationship woes, including three failed marriages, fans couldn’t help but wonder why the comedian felt he’d be in any position to dole out advice.

“Nobody needs relationship advice from you. Who made you the expert? The hell? I blame all ya who bought his stupid book,” commented a critic. Other critical comments included, “That doesn’t make any sense, but go off Steve,” and “If you don’t like him just say it with your chest d—n.”

Former “Day 26” band member Willie Taylor also chimed in, writing, “Come on Steve, I disagree, a father knows his daughter and if a guy needs any advice on how to better treat her, as a father you should be willing to be there. That’s how we grow!”

Last September, the “Family Feud” host admitted he had not been thrilled with his daughter’s past relationships. Speaking with “PEOPLE (The TV Show!),” Harvey said, “I’m happy for my daughter right now. I really am. It’s the first time I’ve been happy for her [in a relationship]. And it’s the first time she’s been happy.”

The young couple went public with their relationship at the top of 2021, and since has kept social media abuzz with their swoon-worthy posts for each other.
