Meagan Good has been mentioned or referenced in several tracks and music videos from your favorite artists, including Young Money’s track “Every Girl.” But fans may be shocked to find out the actress and film producer “once” attempted to start her own music group.

On Wednesday, April 20, Good shared a “story” on Instagram and explained how she and her mother, Tyra Wardlow, put together an all-girl pop singing group back in the day.

“So this is a story I’ve never told,” she wrote in the caption. “Once upon a time, my mother @TyraWardlow + I developed a teenage singing group together.”

She said, “My dream was to have four young women with the bold audacity to sing lead in their own authentic way. ..and I believe we accomplished that. I’m also grateful to my little sister @BeigeBaby, who’s passion for others and creativity inspired this.”

The “Harlem” star also tagged Phenix Rose vocalists — Lanye, Kiara, Rayia and Jamia — and shared the group’s music video for “Run It.” She later added that the group was “six years” in the making.

“Around 2015, @phenix_Rose disband shortly after this music video. It was a learning process and a time in life that I’ll always cherish. These literally are my little sisters, so people show them some love,” she continued.

Good also thanked New York native Lil Mama in the caption for dropping a rap verse on their song “Run It.”

She added, “Not sure why I’m posting this now. I suppose nostalgia and supreme gratitude for this experience. But most of all? So very proud of my girls & feel like I should share this magic. They shared in this brilliant chapter.”

Fans were shocked about the actress’ brief stint as an artist developer.

“Good Work Meag, we definitely see a Grammy in you’re future. SHEGOT.”

“wow, this is a BOP.”

“Waoooh. They are soo gooood!!!”

Phenix Rose attended the 2009 movie premiere for Meagan Good’s role in “Think Like a Man.” Of the group members, Jamia Simone Nash is likely the most-known member after landing singing roles on television series such as “My Wife & Kids,” “Romeo!,” and “Half and Half.” The actress and singer also portrayed the young Fantasia Barrino in the film “Life Is Not a Fairytale: Fantasia Barrino Story.”
