‘Yo Dad Will Smith But You Acting Like Carlton’: Jaden Smith Reacts to Fans Mocking Resurfaced Comments About Him Learning More From Adults Than ‘Kids My Own Age’

Jaden Smith is taking the endless jokes about his mature take on life in stride.

Smith, 23, is the latest member of his famous family to find himself as the butt of jokes for things said and done in public. In a resurfaced interview, from 2018, with Los Angeles radio personality Big Boy, Smith breaks down why spending time around adults during his childhood was more beneficial than time spent with peers.

“I am very happy that I spent my childhood with more adults than I did with kids my own age because I was picking up more things from adults than I were from kids my own age,” said the “Icon” emcee.

He continued with, “Can we talk about like the political and economical state of the world right now? Can we talk about what’s going on with the environment? Can we talk about other things?”

His latter commentary fueled jokes on social media, laced with countless gifs and memes. “Jaden Smith getting escorted out of a sleepover after trying to talk about the Venezuelan economy to 6 year olds [gif of Cuba Gooding Jr. handcuffed]

“LMFAOOO Jaden Smith is not real”

“Jaden Smith think he gotta PhD in maturity he missed out on a whole childhood”

“How yo dad Will Smith but you acting like Carlton”

Joining in on the joke, Smith tweeted:

“Me: Hey Wanna Talk About The Economic And Political State Of World Together.

Girl: Nah

Me: Ok cool.” The tweet included a selfie of him appearing zoned out.

The Smith family has been at the center of a whirlwind of headlines, jokes and criticism in recent years. With Jada Pinkett Smith and husband Will Smith growing more transparent with the ins and outs of their relationship and family life, fans have found it challenging to not make them a topic of discussion.

However, at the 2022 Oscars ceremony, Will and Jada found themselves as the source of division when the Box Office actor slapped comedian Chris Rock while onstage. In the weeks following the incident, Will has been banned from attending any Oscar events for the next 10 years, has had several projects put on hold and has had his stellar reputation and image drug through the mud.
