‘Today Tracee Got More Butt Tho’: Tracee Ellis Ross Recounts When ‘Things Were Sitting Nicely’ But Fans Think Otherwise

A throwback red carpet post by actress Tracee Ellis Ross had her reflecting on the past shape of her body, and fans making comparisons to her look then and now. The photo was taken in 2004, at a Grammy party of music executive Clive Davis.

In the Instagram upload shared on April 13, Ross, who wore a multi-colored Roberto Cavalli dress with gold hoops and bracelets, disclosed in the caption how parts of her body, including her butt, were sitting “nicely.”

The 49-year-old wrote, “Sheesh …2004 Tracee! Things were sittin nicely back then.…in that @roberto_cavalli dress. Thank you, @flyandfamousblackgirls, for finding this pic from Clive Davis Grammy party back in the day.”

When viewing Ross’ post, many expressed in the comments section that the “black-ish” star has still maintained her physique after all these years. One individual even pointed out that her derriere has gotten bigger since 2004.

“Miss Lady you are still beautiful and fabulous, the body still looks good.”

“It’s still sitting nice in 2022! Yes I do be looking!”

“Hmmm Ms. Ma’am you’re still sittin very nicely!!!!!!!! You’re that girl.”

“It’s still sittin and hittin, boo!”

“Today Tracee got more butt tho.”

Among the compliments, a couple of people pointed out how when viewing the throwback photo of Ross, they mistook her for her “black-ish” co-star Yara Shahidi. One wrote, “Yara Shahidi favors you so much. It always amazes me how gene pools that could be no more different produce people with very similar appearances. The casting of mother and daughter for Black•ish couldn’t be any more spot-on.”

Another said, “I was scrolling quickly and initially though this was @yarashahidi. I want to see how she can replicate the look!”

This isn’t the first time that followers have expressed noticing physical comparisons between Ross and Shahidi. In February, Ross wished Shahidi a happy birthday while sharing photos of the pair. She wrote, “Happy Birthday @yarashahidi. You are all grown up!”
