‘U Deserve to be Happy’: La La Anthony Catches Bouquet at Naturi Naughton’s Wedding, Fans Want Her to be Happy If Carmelo Anthony Divorce Goes Through

Fans are fully supporting “Power” star La La Anthony finding love following her divorce from NBA star Carmelo Anthony. The two married on VH1’s “LaLa’s Full Court Wedding” series in 2010 and share a 15-year-old son, Kyian Carmelo Anthony. After years of Carmelo’s infidelity rumors and his welcoming a child with someone else, the actress and host filed for divorce in June 2021. But now she’s ready to embrace her newfound happiness.

Anthony was a bridesmaid in the wedding of ‘Power’ alum Naturi Naughton and Xavier “Two” Lewis, which took place Saturday, April 2. She jumped up and down in excitement in a video on Instagram after catching Naughton’s bouquet.

“Now, what are the chances of me catching the bouquet at @naturi4real & @twolewis beautiful wedding this weekend?” she captioned the clip. “We outsideeeeee or nah? Somebody tell me what we doing?

Anthony used the song “Self-Love” by vocalists Jayson Lyric and Nevaeh as background music to explain how she learned to put herself first. The lyrics go, “I’ve been working on me. I’ve been loving on me. I had to learn to love myself.”

Fans in the comments were excited about wanting to see “The Chi” star happy and in love with the right man. Many were shocked she gracefully caught the bouquet, writing, “The fact that it literally landed in your hands.” Here’s what a few people had to say:

“Outside sis, you deserve to be HAPPY!”

“Yasss love is coming and I’m here for it.”

“We getting a Huzzzband.”

“Yassss, please, someone out there show her how much she deserves and more.

“You deserve it. You are a good woman, good mother, good feeling and a very kind person.”

While fans shared their excitement for Anthony, others touched on her longtime friendship with Naughton, which played out in the original “Power” series. Anthony played LaKeisha, the best friend of Naughton’s character Tasha St. Patrick. Fans who watched the show noticed LaKeisha lived the not-so luxury lifestyle as compared against her best friend, Tasha, who married one of New York’s top drug dealers.

One person said, “Of course, Keisha caught Tasha’s bouquet,” wrote one person. Another said, “Aww Lakeisha and Tasha!!”

In season six of “Power,” LaKeisha was ultimately killed by her best friend for cooperating with the police. One person referred to LaKeisha’s lover in the series, writing, “Tommy, come get your wife!”

A few unpleasant fans discouraged the 38-year-old from essentially making the same decision twice. One said, “Girl you’ve already been there, done that. Pass it on.” Another added, “La La, just go back to @carmeloanthony.”

Since filing for divorce, Anthony has kept herself busy promoting her hair care line, Inala. She also reunited with fellow “Power” alum and co-creator Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson in his latest Starz series, “BMF.” She will reprise her role as Markaisha Taylor in the next season.

“BMF is a rollercoaster ride,” Anthony told the ladies of “The Real” in February. “You know it’s based on a true story, two brothers, Meech and Terry, and how they took over the game from all kinds of angles. But they went straight to the stop, then ultimately their demise. So I come in when they’re really shaking things up, really starting to make money, really [taking] over Atlanta. And I come in and start having some dealings with one of the brothers and it causes some problems and a lot of things happen.”
