Following a nasty back-and-forth that ultimately led rapper Pusha T into revealing in a May 2018 diss track that Drake fathered a son, the Virginia-based emcee seemingly is ready to move on from his 2011-born squabble with the “Way 2 Sexy” emcee. However, fans are not all too convinced their beef is over just yet.
During a recent appearance on Complex’s “360 with Speedy Morman,” in his first interview in nearly two years, Pusha addressed Drake recently quoting the Clipse’s 2002 classic “Cot Damn” after sharing a video of his son Adonis speaking French fluently. “I been around the world thrice times I mean what I say,” the Grammy Award-winning lyricist captioned the post.
The conversation led Pusha to suggest that things were cool between him and the “Knife Talk” rapper.
“I thought he was propping up his son, speaking French,” Pusha said of the social media post. The “Diet Coke” emcee said Drake sharing the lyrics doesn’t concern him, “No, Not with his son, never.” “I wouldn’t think that. I wouldn’t put my son in, like, that type of energy,” he added. Pusha believes Drake “was just drawing a parallel to, like you said, his son speaking French. I don’t think it was anything more than that.”
When asked if he thinks he could look past their tumultuous history in the wake of Drake ending his decade-long feud with Kanye West, Push said he “already looked past that .” He continued, “I don’t look towards that anymore. … Bygones are bygones, as far as I see. I think it’s really good that they did squash it. That works really good for them.”
However, Pusha’s tone in which he answered the burning question left many people on social media unconvinced that his beef is over with the “No Friends In The Industry” emcee. “The tone is telling me something different,” wrote one Instagram user.
“Push lying he don’t like drake at any time he ready to declare smoke,” wrote another skeptic. A third person commented, “Pusha don’t ever give straight up answers. He always skating, vague and deep thought answers.”
Drake has yet to address the comments made in the latest interview. However, in 2019, the “God’s Plan” rapper expressed that he had zero interest in ever rekindling a friendship with Pusha as he’s done in the past with artists, including Chris Brown and Meek Mill.
