Former ‘Judge Judy’ Bailiff Says Other Court Shows Are Showing Interest In Him After He Reveals He Was Not Asked to Be on Judge Judy’s New Show

Petri-Hawkins Byrd, former bailiff on the famous court show “Judge Judy,” may have new offers to review after revealing he was not asked to be a part of Judge Judy Sheindlin’s new show “Judy Justice.”

According to TMZ, a representative for Petri says “he’s not actively pursuing a spot on another show, but he’d consider any offers that come in, and some producers are showing interest.” He recently made a guest appearance on the soap opera “The Bold and the Beautiful,” and said he has an interest in filming again for the show.

This comes just days after Petri revealed to “Entertainment Weekly” that after filming over 12,500 cases for 25 years with Sheindlin, she did not consider him for her upcoming spin-off series.

He was aware of the new show last year while they were filming their 25th and final season of “Judge Judy,” but he said he waited and assumed that she was “at least going to ask me if I wanted to have the opportunity to audition for the role.” On top of that, he said he had more urgent matters on his plate, like being there for his wife who had to have brain surgery to get a tumor removed.

Once his wife’s surgery was complete and she had time to recover, he said he reached out to Sheindlin earlier this year in July to finally ask about the new show. During their discussion, she revealed that he was not being asked to join her in the series. He said, “she did inform me that fundamentally, I was priced out as the new bailiff on her new show. My salary would have been too much. I was curious: How would she know? She didn’t ask me. She didn’t give me an opportunity to have accepted a lower salary.”

Sheindlin has yet to respond to any of Byrd’s statements, but she has been preparing on the release of “Judy Justice,” which will premiere in November of this year. In May, during an exclusive interview with “Entertainment Tonight,” it was revealed that Sheindlin is worth an estimated $440 million. Not only that, but her work schedule is pretty flexible in comparison to the average person.

According to ET, she works 52 days out of the year and gets paid about $47 million.
