Tabitha Brown informed her Twitter followers on July 8 that her all-purpose seasoning called Sunshine sold out 39 minutes after its initial release the same day. The McCormick-partnered brand is a mixture of garlic, ginger, pineapple, and mango spices.
Brown wrote while hinting that her sold-out “batch” might be available to order this upcoming fall, “Sold out in 39 minutes. I am overwhelmed by the response to #SunshineSeasoning!!!Unfortunately, it is all sold out, but we’re working to blend another batch! Stay tuned for updates this Fall. @Mccormickspice.”
This announcement came an hour after the self-proclaimed “world’s favorite mom” promoted the brand on her Twitter page.
Immediately following the news of Brown’s latest business venture success, many people brought up how her “gracious” clapback at television host Wendy Williams helped contributed to the sales. Williams initially expressed on her daytime television show how she felt it was a bad idea that the social media personality decided to free her husband Chance Brown to retire from the Los Angeles Police Department after 15 years on the force.
“That Wendy clap back was a blessing. Lol.”
“Write this down, Wendy ✍🏾.”
“Wendy was sent to get her out of character to miss her blessing that was around the corner but she passed that test. She stayed in love and God moved on her behalf!! #Boom💁🏽♀️.”
“Wendy big mouth just blessed that woman!!! 🙌🏾.”
“Now look what you did Wendy😂😂.”
Although countless people indicated that Brown’s clapback helped boosts sales of her seasoning, others felt that it was the beloved TikToker’s spirit that made every dream of hers come to fruition. One wrote, “It’s all about her authenticity, energy, and vibe that’s creating success for her! Love her! ❤️👏🏽.”
Another said, “The timing of the Wendy situation was so perfect. Everyone was riding hard for her right before she released a new product. Like so like that….” An Instagram user mentioned that Brown deserved success because of her “healing light.” “She really deserves all good things to come her way! This woman always healing light!”
Brown told Williams in an Instagram video following the host’s initial warning: “I pray that love finds you, true love. I pray it finds you and it holds you tight. I pray that someone will love you enough to see you when you are not well, to see you when you need true support, to see you when you need compassion, to see you when you need kindness. I pray that somebody loves you enough to sacrifice their life for you. I pray that type of love finds you, so that you can understand why I don’t want my husband to put his life on the line anymore, wearing a bulletproof vest if he don’t have to and if that’s not his desire.”
