‘This Lady Went from TikTok to an Emmy’: Tabitha Brown In Tears After Being Nominated for an Emmy for Her Children’s Show ‘Tab Time’ Following Tension with Food Network

Tabitha Brown revealed on Nov. 1 that her YouTube children’s series “Tab Time” was nominated for two Emmy awards for the program’s first Children’s & Family Emmy Awards. In “Tab Time,” which premiered in December 2021, Brown teaches children how to live their best life by incorporating her skills as a cook, storyteller, motivational leader and mom.

The emotional 43-year-old said in an Instagram video, “Hello there, I just found out that I’ve been nominated for an Emmy for “Tab Time”…Oh my God, ‘Tab Time’ has been nominated for an Emmy like to me that is the win. Okay Tab, pull it together girl. I can’t, I can believe it, but I can’t believe it.”

Further in the clip, Brown listed the awards she was nominated for, including “Outstanding Host” and “Outstanding Preschool Series.”

She said, “Not one but two Emmy nominations, one for me as Ms. Tab, the host of the show, and the other one for Outstanding Preschool show. As soon as they called, I said I got to hang up and tell the people while it’s happening in real-time because it’s so important to share this with y’all because y’all the ones that be making it happen with me. So thank y’all.”

Brown ended the video by saying she had to call her father to share the good news. In addition to the post, Brown continued to show her gratitude by thanking everyone, including the Academy, YouTube and followers.

She wrote, “Y’all look at what the Lord has done. Tab Time is nominated for not 1 but 2 Emmys!!!!! 1 for Outstanding preschool series and 1 for me as Outstanding Host. “Her spirit is so pure and I can’t think of anyone more deserving she is such an amazing soul genuine as they come blessings to her.”

“This lady went from TikTok to an EMMY love this for her and her family!”

“Well deserved! Happy to see a positive person rewarded for their work.”

Brown’s Emmy nomination comes months after the star’s Food Network’s series “Its CompliPlated” was moved to a different time slot. The plant-based cooking competition series, which originally aired on Thursdays at 9 p.m., was moved to Tuesdays at 1 p.m.

Although the company never publicly addressed why the switch occurred, Brown shared in an Instagram video in August that the time slot difference stemmed from her refusal to change who she was as a person.

Brown said, “Real quick, I know I’ve said this so many times before, but for whatever reason, people just don’t seem to believe me, okay? There is not a company, there is not a network, there is not a person, place, or thing that is going to change who I am.”

The actress added, while pointing at herself, “If you don’t like Tab as this Tab. If you don’t like the Tab who gives God glory. If you don’t like the vegan Tab. If you don’t like the cooking Tab, the mama Tab; if you don’t like my personality; If you don’t like everything that makes Tab, Tab, don’t work with me ’cause I’m not going to change. I’m not going to shift a little bit for your audience. I’m not going to talk a little bit different for your comfort. I’m not going to change.”
