Wendy Williams‘ ex-husband Kevin Hunter received extensive backlash on July 2 after posting an “ungrateful” Instagram Story following the daytime television talk show host’s warning to social media influencer Tabitha Brown.
Hunter’s post came a day after Brown clapped back at Williams for expressing how she thought it was a bad idea that the actress encouraged her husband of 18 years, Chance Brown, to retire from the Los Angeles Police Department to pursue his lifelong dreams. The 56-year-old also used her past similar experiences with an unidentified ex to support her claims. She said, “Nope, I was married to one of those. You see how that turned out.”
Following Williams’ initial statement, Hunter took to social media with a message some social media users seemed to interpret as addressing his contributions to his failed marriage to Williams, which included producing her talk show.
Hunter said in a now-deleted Instagram Story, “I’m coming to realize that being ungrateful is a disease that only God can heal… That’s why you receive blessings regardless of a person’s actions…He doesn’t forget nothing!!!”
Although Williams never confirmed which ex she was referring to, many could assume it was Hunter, based on their rocky history. Williams and Hunter were married for 21 years and divorced in 2019 after the talent manager welcomed another child with his mistress, Sharina Hudson.
Upon viewing his post many called out Hunter for his past indiscretions. One even replied to his Instagram Story claiming that the man above hasn’t forgotten about his cheating.
“If the audacity was a person.”
“And he ain’t forgot all you cheating and having a baby on YOUR WIFE WAYS✌🏾✌🏾.”
“If ungrateful was a n–a it would be Kelvin f–kboy Hunter. You’re the reason she’s warning women now. She don’t want anyone having a barnacle-like your a–.”
Williams and Hunter initially met in 1994 while she was hosting a kids skating party in New York City. The former couple ultimately tied the knot three years later and welcomed their only son Kevin Hunter Jr. in 2000.
