“Real Housewives of Atlanta” OG Sheree Whitfield‘s love life made headlines on Feb. 24 after TMZ revealed that the former reality star and her boo Tyrone Gilliams have reunited after his prison release — because of COVID-19 spreading throughout the prison — in Kentucky last week. Gilliams was initially sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2013 for his role in a Ponzi scheme which ultimately led to investors losing around $5 million.
Upon his release, Gilliams said the pair spent a lot of quality time together in Philadelphia. It has also been reported that Whitfield has been helping her boo get adjusted to his new life. Following the news, fans of the “RHOA” alum expressed their excitement for the star. One even referenced a line from Erykah Badu’s 1997 song “Tyrone” — a tune about an ex calling his friend Tyrone to help pack his things — in honor of Gilliams’ name.
“Finna get her some PEEN PEEN… ok Sheree!!”
“You bettaaa calllll tyroneeeeeeeeeee.”
“Happiness is the ultimate goal as long as she’s happy I’m here for it.”
“Definitely gonna be a long day for her 😂😂😂💯💯💯”
An Instagram user mentioned Whitfield’s infamous alleged release date for her She by Sheree joggers. “Yasssssssss they been rockin since spring summer. I mean winter fall.”
The couple, who previously dated a decade ago, decided to rekindle their relationship around Whitfield’s birthday in 2016, but things turned sour in 2018 after Gilliams lost his appeal. Whitfield apparently confirmed the news in July of that year when a fan asked the “RHOA” OG through an Instagram Story Q&A about her relationship status with Gilliams. The Instagram user asked, “are you dating Tyrone still or u dating someone else?” Whitfield responded, “hmmmm,” with a thinking emoji.
Gilliams also told TMZ that although he sees a future with Whitfield, he isn’t planning on walking down the aisle anytime soon.
Whitfield appeared to have responded to her reunion with Gilliams on her Instagram Story, the same day the news broke. She wrote, “Best day ever….” with a kissing emoji.
