After suffering the heart-wrenching loss of her recent pregnancy, Chrissy Teigen is honoring the unborn child with a unique piece of art that will be with her forever.
Early Sunday morning, on Nov 1, the “Lip Sync Battle” co-host unveiled her newest tattoo, an inscription dedicated to the male baby they had come to call Jack. In the photo, Chrissy was seen gripping an unknown person’s hand as she showed off the name written in cursive on her right wrist. The post received over 50,600 likes.
Moved by the model’s heartwarming gesture, a fan revealed that she too had been looking for a way to commemorate the life of a child she lost 13 years ago. “I’ve been trying to find the best tattoo to represent my stillborn son for 13 years,” the fan wrote. “I love your tattoo for jack.” Chrissy offered some kindhearted advice, saying, “Let’s help you find something you love.” She added, “Maybe one s shape, a swirl of air around you.”
Others supported Chrissy’s tribute by sharing body art that they got following the loss of their loved ones, including who fan who wrote, “It’s a great tribute, my artist mixed in Archer’s ashes into the ink so I have a piece of him with me always.” The user attached a photo of the tattoo, which featured the child’s name, an archery kit, and small prints of a hand and foot.
Another person wrote, “Absolutely beautiful Chrissy I have my Pepere’s name is his handwriting from my first grade reading journal, tattoos are such a perfect way to keep them with you always.”
A third user commented, “Beautiful! I decided to get a heart as part of my pregnancy loss healing – a reminder to “love myself.” Lost our first at only 10 weeks pregnant in September. Thank you for sharing your miscarriage journey – you are not alone! Much love to you and your family.”
As previously reported, on Sept 30 Chrissy revealed to her 31.7 million followers on Instagram that she and husband John Legend had lost their baby boy. In a lengthy caption attached to several very personal photos from inside a hospital room, the model wrote: “We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before. We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough.”
She concluded her statement by saying, “We are so grateful for the life we have, for our wonderful babies Luna and Miles, for all the amazing things we’ve been able to experience. But everyday can’t be full of sunshine. On this darkest of days, we will grieve, we will cry our eyes out. But we will hug and love each other harder and get through it.”
