Tia Mowry, 42, and her brother Tahj Mowry, 34, attempted to share their hair growth progress with fans, but the topic of conversation quickly turned to the resemblance between Tahj and former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick.
The sister and brother actors showed off their matching thick, natural Afros in an Instagram post, but fans were distracted once they realized the striking similarity between Tahj and Kap.
“2 fros T squared 💕 @tahj_mowry,” Tia captioned her image, which received some 217,000 likes.
Tia’s followers left plenty of compliments for the siblings’ healthy hair, as well as remarks about the uncanny resemblance between the “Smart Guy” star and the civil rights activist.
“I thought that was Colin Kaepernick for a moment,” remarked a fan.
“lets get into your hair growth though 👏👏👏👏,” a second commented.
“At quick glance, I thought he was Colin Kaepernick,” a third noted.
“why did I think this was Colin Kaepernick,” wondered a fourth.
“Reminds me of the Wayans Brothers theme ‘We’re brothers (well siblings in your case lol) we’re happy and we’re singing and we’re colored’ 😂😂😂,” joked a fifth fan.
The post marked one of Tahj’s first reappearances on social media since the death of actress Naya Rivera. Mowry left fans stunned and saddened when he revealed that he and Rivera were each other’s first loves.
Mowry shared a heartfelt message in honor of the late “Glee” star following news of her disappearance after taking her son boating on Lake Piru in Southern California on July 8. She was confirmed drowned after her body was recovered on July 13.
“You were my first experience with everything; love, intimacy, heartbreak. We broke each others hearts and then mended them back together…more than once,” he wrote. “I will never not think of you. No woman has ever measured up what you gave me or how you made me feel. I’ve never liked to admit it but I have never stopped loving you.
