Megan Thee Stallion accused hip-hop star Tory Lanez of shooting her in the feet more than one month after the incident. On Thursday, Aug. 20, the 25-year-old rapper went on Instagram Live, where she claimed Tory pulled the trigger after they attended a party in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Hollywood Hills and explained why she remained silent about the shooting until now.
“You shot me. I ain’t get cut by no glass, but let me tell you why they saying that,” Megan said before accusing him of shooting her in the feet while she was trying to leave the party. “When the police came, because the neighbors called the police, this did not happen at Kylie [Jenner]’s house, this happened damn near back at the house I was staying at. I was just trying to get home. We was five minutes away from my spot.”
“The police come. I’m scared. All this sh-t going on with the police. The police is shooting motherf-ckers for anything. The police was literally killing black people for no motherf-cking reason. Soon as the police tell us all ‘Get out the motherf-cking car.’ The police is really aggressive. Do you think I’m about to tell the police that we n-ggas us black people got a gun in the car? You want me to tell the laws we got a gun in the car so they can shoot all of us?”
The Houston native then went on to explain her reason for speaking out about the alleged assault, claiming that Tory and his team were lying to media outlets about the situation. “Yes, this n-gga Tory shot me. You shot me, and you got your publicist and your people going to these blogs, lying and sh-t,” she stressed. “Stop lying. Why lie? I don’t understand. I tried to keep the situation off the internet, but you’re dragging it.”
Megan said she arrived at a hospital shortly after the shooting and a police officer told her that she was being detained. Even though she was bleeding and needed stitches, Megan says she refused to tell officers how she’d been injured. She said when she received her X-rays from the doctors, they told her they’d found bullets and fragments in her feet. She later explained in the Instagram Live that she refrained from naming Tory as the shooter because she was terrified of the police. “If you really want [me] to tell the motherf-cking truth, I tried to save this n-gga. Even though he shot me, I tried to spare him. And y’all m-therf—ers is not sparing me. That’s crazy,” she added.
“I try to save n-ggas and y’all on the internet talking about ‘Oh, b-tch you ain’t get shot. Oh, free Tory.’ That n-gga not in jail. He not in jail, because I didn’t tells the laws what happened as soon as it happened and I should have. I’m smart. I didn’t have to spare that n-gga. I don’t have to spare nobody, but I did and I’m done.”
Police arrested Tory for possession of a concealed weapon in a vehicle at the scene of the shooting on Sunday, July 12. He has yet to address the felony charge against him or Megan’s recent accusations. Tory is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 13.
