Megan Thee Stallion did her best to silence the “Pics or it didn’t happen” conversation surrounding her alleged shooting incident by sharing graphic images of her injuries.
When news broke that on July 12 Megan was the victim of an alleged assault at the hands of an unnamed assailant while partying with rapper Tory Lanez in Hollywood Hills, California, her fans were glad that she emerged relatively unharmed. The internet did as it does, however, and brought out the skeptics who questioned whether she was hurt at all or if she was exaggerating her injuries.
The “WAP” rapper shared two since-deleted photos on Instagram after photos of her partying with rapper Future in an Atlanta strip club on Monday, Aug. 17, surfaced. Some took the images of Meg living it up with a bandage on one foot as proof that she’s milking the attention, which appeared to be her motivation for sharing the shocking pics.
The Hot Girl released a lengthy statement along with the graphic post, directly addressing all of the skepticism surrounding the incident.
“Lol what I have learned abt majority of the people on social media is y’all like to hear bad news before good news, a lie spreads quicker than the truth, and y’all really be believing the sh– YALL make up,” she began. “I got hit at the back of my feet because when I got shot I was WALKING AWAY FACING THE BACK. why would I lie abt getting shot?”
She went on to address the internet rumors and conversations she’s seen surrounding the incident and her recovery, writing, “Why are y’all so upset that I don’t wanna be in the bed sad? Why y’all upset that I can walk? I got my stitches out my feet like 2 weeks ago and I was ready to go celebrate WAP going number1… I usually don’t address internet bulls–t but y’all people are so sick!”
Fans were stunned to see she posted the graphic images and many were angered at the fact that she even felt the need to prove her injuries.

“Megan Thee Stallion should not have had to post pictures of her wounds for y’all to empathize with her. Men can release 20 songs about getting shot and y’all never ask for proof to believe it. Once again just say you don’t GAF about black women and go.”
“Where y’all “she lied about getting shot” people at now ? I’m tryna see something.”
“The fact that she has to do this is sad… SMDH”
“Smh and she shouldnt have to explain herself! Why is it so hard to believe women?”
“yal must want her to be sad and miserable and talk about being shot on every song for the next 5 albums like most of ur fav rappers”
Whether or not this is enough to silence the naysayers remains to be seen.
In addition to mentioning it in her caption, Megan previously said in an Instagram Live video that she was shot in both feet, but the extent of the injuries remain largely unknown. She wore one bandage while out with Future and appeared to post one foot wound on her page.
