Former “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Phaedra Parks was just trying to show off an adorable photo of her family on vacation. However, not all members were here for the Parks family moment.
The precious snap quickly derailed after fans pointed out Phaedra’s son’s unimpressed facial expression. In the photo, the reality star was spotted posing with her niece Amaayaha, who recently graduated high school, and her two sons 10-year-old Ayden and 7-year-old Dylan.
Phaedra and the boys wore matching black floral tops, while Amaayaha sported a similar top in white with matching knitted shorts. “Today God blessed our #family with the #smartest (honor roll every semester at #Tulane), kindest and most #beautiful #angel he had!” Phaedra captioned the pic. She added, “#happybirthday @amaayaha from #Cuba to #Vegas our #love is #limitless for #you! Welcome to #20! #Proud #teedie 👑🎂💞⚜️😢.”
While everyone smiled, Ayden, on the other hand, adopted a less-than-enthusiastic expression as he rested his chin on his fist. One fan took notice, saying, “Aiden don’t look so happy, you make laugh when i watch marriage boot camp that’s right Ms. Phaedra always be a southern bell (a lady who has standards and self-respect) God bless you and the boys.”
A second user commented, “Nephew wasn’t feeling y’all wit all dat picture taking. His face was like …again.” Another added, “Your sun act like my oldest grandbaby. He is irritated with taking pictures. He don’t’ like taking pictures and never smile. CROWNON.”
A fourth fan joked, “Thats how you look when your mom makes you wear a hat you dont want to wear lol.. Very cute pic thou!”
Phaedra shares her two sons with her former husband, Appollo Nida. The origin of the pair’s romance had always been a mystery until recently, when the reality star spilled the details surrounding their 1995 encounter during an interview with DailyMailTV.
“He saw me, flagged me down, we met, and he followed me home and walked up to my doorstep and said, ‘Hey, I want you to be my girlfriend.’ And so that’s how we got together,” Phaedra explained. “Apollo was extremely nice, always very generous, just a really good guy.”
They two dated off and on for nearly a decade, after which Nida served a five-year bid in prison until 2009 for his connection in a car theft scheme. Upon his release, the pair started a family and eventually married.
By 2014, Nida found himself on the wrong side of law yet again, eventually being sentenced to prison that year on bank, mail and wire fraud fraud charges. As a result, Phaedra pulled the plug on their relationship once and for all. “I was done. From the moment I discovered that he had done all this stuff, I was finished with that relationship,” the mother of two explained. In 2014, Phaedra revealed that she was divorcing her husband after five years of marriage. The two reportedly reached a divorce settlement in 2017.
