Tamar Braxton and her Nigerian boyfriend David Adefeso may be walking down the aisle sometime soon. Over the weekend, the 43-year-old singer and songwriter wrote a heartfelt message on Instagram, where she thanked her boyfriend for saving her life following her purported suicide attempt. Tamar shared an old video alongside the message that showed her and David toasting to their engagement during a romantic getaway to Santa Barbara.
The clip begins with the couple sitting outside while holding their tropical alcoholic beverages. “My love. Where are we? How about we do a toast? A beautiful toast. Two different drinks, but the same color. To what?” Tamar asked Adefeso. He responded: “We’re in Santa Barbara. We just had the most amazing engagement, so we’re celebrating very nice and quiet. … Whatever, the best time in the world.” Tamar said, “Yes, the best time! To the best times.”
Aside from the footage, the “Braxton Family Values” reality star concluded her Saturday, Aug. 1, post by writing in her caption, “I love you.. and although I been said yes in this old video… now and then, I couldn’t imagine what life would be like if you weren’t by my side. thank God I’m here and thank God for you ❤️‼️💍.”
The news shouldn’t come as a surprise to true Tamartians, since Tamar has mentioned on numerous occasions that she hopes to marry David. In an April interview with Wendy Williams, the Grammy-nominated singer revealed that she desired to have babies with David, but explained that she wanted him to marry her first.
“I would love to have a family with David, but, like, we gotta put a ring on it first. You know what I’m saying. I can’t have a bunch of baby daddies running around here. That ain’t cute, I already got one,” she said while laughing. Tamar shares her 7-year-old son Logan Vincent Herbert with her ex-husband, music producer Vincent Herbert.
