On Tuesday, June 16, news broke that Eva Marcille would not be returning to “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” for season 13. Over the seasons, viewers have watched cast members come and go, but Eva’s frenemy and co-star Porsha Williams recently announced that her Georgia Peach was secured.
Shortly after the nation found out that Eva quit the franchise, Porsha released a statement on her Instagram story. “Letters sent almost #Rhoa time again👏🏼🔥 Season 13 let’s go,” she wrote over a black background.
Some people who reacted to Porsha’s message expressed the idea that Eva did not receive a letter for the upcoming season and assumed that the 38-year-old Porsha was throwing shots at the supermodel. “Nah she letting us know that Eva ain’t get a letter honey 😂,” one user wrote, followed by another who commented “Lmaoo 😭 Sis is letting us know Eva did not refuse she just didn’t receive it💀😂.”
“The Rickey Smiley Morning Show” radio personality implied in a statement with The Jasmine Brand that she was leaving the hit reality show to focus on other opportunities. However, some people believed that wasn’t the real reason behind Eva’s departure. “‘Letters sent'” the shade ! Eva knows damn well she received nothing 😆 Talking about “AfTeR diScuSsiNg wiTh mY teAm” 😂😂😂,” someone else said.
Eva and Porsha started beefing toward the beginning of season 12 right after Kenya Moore threw her daughter Brooklyn Daly a Barbie-themed “presentation” party. Kenya planned the bash in an effort to introduce her daughter to the cast. The Miss USA winner invited her castmates and their kids to the festivities, but Eva showed up to the celebration without her children.
During the episode, Eva admitted that she did not know Kenya well enough and hinted that she was worried about bringing her children to the event because she was not sure what the energy would be like at the party. Porsha caught wind of Eva’s explanation and told Kenya.
Eva insinuated that the Georgia native was being sneaky and spoke negatively about Porsha’s daughter Pilar Jhena’ McKinley. The Los Angeles native said Pilar looked like her father, Dennis McKinley, with a bow and later suggested that Porsha needed to heal from her C-section before she began snooping in Eva’s business. The two women threw shade at each other during the “RHOA” season 12 reunion. It’s unlikely that they will mend their friendship.
