Eva Marcille is leaving “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” The Georgia Peach revealed in a statement with The Jasmine Brand on Tuesday, June 16 that she would not be returning to the franchise for season 13.
“I appreciate the bond of friendship that I have made with several of my cast mates and the strong personal relationships I have with numerous executives and producers at the Bravo and Truly Entertainment companies,” she wrote. “I am thankful for the opportunity I was provided. However, after speaking with my family and representatives, I believe that what I hope to accomplish for the culture and community will be better served by focusing on other opportunities. I look forward to serving my community on the “Rickey Smiley Morning Show” and finding ways to be a voice during this transformational time in our country for people of color.”
Eva originally joined season 10 of the “RHOA” as a friend to Nene Leakes and was promoted to a full-time cast member in season 11. Some fans proclaimed that the 35-year-old supermodel got demoted after season 12, insinuating that was the true reason behind her departure. “They offered her a “Friend” position instead of a Peach 🍑. Believe me, Eva wasn’t just gone walk away from a full time position like she got it like that,” one user wrote.
However, other fans expressed the idea that she did not want to film with her frenemy Porsha Williams any longer. “Sis not trynna face Porsha ! After alll that bark!🤦🏾♂️😩it’s okay I guess.” Eva and Porsha fell out with each other during season 12. At the time, their co-star Kenya Moore invited the cast to her daughter’s Barbie-themed “coming out” bash in an effort to introduce her baby girl Brookyn Daly to the ladies. Eva decided not to bring her children to the event. She revealed in the episode that she did not know Kenya that well and implied that she was uncomfortable bringing her children because she did not know what the vibes would be.
Porsha told Kenya the reason why Eva did not allow her children to attend the party. The Los Angeles native claimed Porsha was “messy” and talked negatively about Porsha’s daughter Pilar Jhena’ McKinley. Eva said 1-year-old Pilar looked like her father, Dennis McKinley, with a bow while insinuating that Porsha needed to heal from her C-section before indulging herself in Eva’s business. Porsha explained during the “RHOA” season 12 reunion that she would never forgive Eva for talking about her child.
