Yovanna Momplaisir may have secured a peach for season 13 of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” Momplaisir, a former friend of Nene Leakes, reportedly will return to the cast as an official cast member, TMZ reported on Monday, May 25. The ladies of the hit reality show reportedly signed their contracts after they filmed the reunion, but some fans expressed that they were not happy about the new cast changes.
Momplaisir, whose actual first name is Gail, was exposed as “the snake” during “RHOA” season 12. She supposedly recorded Cynthia Bailey talking badly about Leakes, creating the infamous “Snakegate” scandal. Momplaisir tried to clear her name during part 3 of the reunion and claimed that Leakes was behind the supposed recording incident, saying Leakes told her to record conversations from the cast so Leakes could see what the ladies were saying about her behind her back.
The 52-year-old Leakes walked out during part 2 of the Bravo special. She hinted in an Instagram post that she felt attacked by the cast and claimed that she was held to a different standard than the other women. Leakes did not return for the final installment, which led some fans to believe that Momplaisir became an official housewife because Leakes was not present to defend herself against Momplaisir’s accusations.
“NAAAHHHHH wtfff bravo. We don’t want Gail’s thirsty a-s.”
“Nobody asked for this ! @bravoandy the past 2 seasons were horrible . We the people do not want her or Eva to return . Nor do we want to hear about snake gate another season.”
“😩😩😩😩 Nooooo.”
“Nene not addressing the situation backfired on her hard 😬.”
“For what tho? 🤷🏿♀️🤷🏿♀️”
“They really trying @neneleakes 😏😫.”
“Another booooorrriiinnnggg addition to the show.”
“We never asked for this 😫 we said Phaedra @bravotv.”
Prior to the reunion, Leakes released text message evidence on Instagram that apparently showed Momplaisir admitting to having an audio recording of Bailey bashing Leakes. In the receipts, Momplaisir implied that she was going to unveil the recording in a later scene on the show. The former “Glee” actress defended herself, denying that she told Momplaisir to record conversations. Neither Momplaisir or Leakes has addressed the rumor pertaining to the cast changes.
