Marlo Hampton is known for wearing her silky-straight, jet-black wigs, so imagine her fans’ surprise when they saw her rocking her natural hair on the ‘Gram. The reality star from “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” flaunted her Afrocentric hair in an IG story from Monday, April 20. She hinted to fans that she felt totally free without her restrictive hairpieces.
On Monday, the native of the Sunshine State posed in her closet — clad in a black sports bra and a pair of sweatpants. Her natural hair was blown out, big and soft. Hampton seemed to be feeling refreshed in her video.
“I am weave free. It feels so good. No polish on my toes. I’m missing about two of my press-on nails, but I feel good, baby,” she said. “I’m breathing, I’m alive, and I’m about to head to the living room for some Teddy Riley and Baby Face,” she added.
She shared an additional clip of her in the mirror complimenting her head full of hair. “Me, myself, and I. The only competition, baby girl,” she said.
Hampton launched her own hair-care line Haute Elegant Rebel, known as HER, in January and explained in an Instagram post that she tends to wear wigs quite frequently to protect her natural hair. “I only wear wigs as protective styles so my natural hair can rest, hydrate, and grow,” she wrote.
The former fashion stylist received praises from her “Hamptons” fan base for wearing natural-looking wigs.

Hampton shared in her caption that she created her wig line for women who love to switch up their hair, but don’t want to damage their natural hair in the process. She expressed that her hair line was also intended for women suffering from health issues and hair loss.
