Tami Roman became a fan favorite during her one-season stint on the “The Real World: Los Angeles” in 1993 as well as her many seasons on Basketball Wives.” However, it appears she may be leaving her reality television roots behind for good. Roman announced on Wednesday, April 15, that she was starring in a movie with Regina Hall. Fans were beaming with joy to see her career evolving right in front of their eyes.
Roman shared in an Instagram post that she was partnering up with “The Girls Trip” actress to star in a comedy titled “Tijuana Jackson: Purpose Over Prison,” formerly known as “Prison Logic.” Romany Malco, an actor from “Think Like a Man,” wrote and directed the film. The movie will center on the life of a self-proclaimed motivational speaker named Tijuana Jackson who is newly released from prison and is set on pursing his dream as a life coach.
Roman, a native of New York, revealed she has always wanted to work with Hall, so this job was a dream come true for her. “I have watched Romanyโs amazing work & have ALWAYS wanted to work with @morereginahall,” she gushed. Fans praised the 49-year-old television personality for landing a gig of a lifetime.

The highly anticipated comedy is set for an OnDemand release on July 10. In addition to acting, Roman has also dabbled in producing. She signed an overall production deal to produce alternative and scripted content with television executive Mona Scott-Young last year.
