Tami Roman is not going away from your TV screens.
The star of VH1’s “Basketball Wives” has landed an overall deal to produce alternative and scripted content with Mona Scott-Young, giving an all-new meaning to “booked and busy.”
“OMG! I’m so excited to be apart of the Monami family & ready for my projects Queen City & Big Oil Houston to come to fruition under @monascottyoung or ‘Muvaaa’ as I like to call her 😂😂😂 This woman… man y’all don’t understand…to have someone take you under their wing, teach you, guide you and believe in you is priceless! I prayed for helpful ppl & God sent me Mona, @realnickroses and @danikaberry I love you Mona! Let’s make magic! EPFlow #DreamInBlack #MPowered #GodIsStillInTheBlessingBusiness,” she shared on Instagram Thursday, June 13.
As part of the deal, Roman and Scott-Young will launch what Deadline reports is a “ensemble cast docu-follows” in the form of “Queen City” and “Big Oil Houston,” which seem to fall under the alternative TV content umbrella. Additionally, the duo will produce several scripted and formatted efforts. The goal is for the reality TV veterans to broaden their slate beyond unscripted material and put their productions in Houston, Texas, as they each reside there with their families.
Yet, perhaps one of the biggest projects the deal will launch is one fans will see June 19 after “Basketball Wives” premieres. The hour-long “Tami Ever After” will air on VH1 at 9 p.m. and will follow Roman navigating the next steps in her relationship with longtime boyfriend-turned-husband Reggie Youngblood.
The series is described as one that focuses on the pair’s relationship as they blend their families — Roman’s L.A.-based clan and Youngblood’s Houston-raised brood. The show appears to have been renamed from the previously reported title “Beverly Trill Billies.”
“I’m truly excited that my fans will finally get an opportunity to see my crazy family dynamic with my children — Lyric, Jazz — and my boyfriend Reggie,” Roman said of the show in a statement to People magazine. “It feels good that I have the opportunity to do something a little different in the reality TV space.”
Despite Roman referring to her spouse as her boyfriend, the celebrity magazine says a synopsis for the series states their wedding will be shown on the program.
Meanwhile, fans are piling on the praise for Roman’s new business move.
“Congratulations sis, you deserve it.”
“Get them coins! ❤️💋”
