With a newborn daughter and his wife, Erica Mena, to keep him busy, Safaree Samuels is using some of his free time at home amid the pandemic to reflect on what he feels matters most: Time and family.
“I think this is a sign from God that we all just need to slow down…Nothing lasts. We just need to really value time more, more than anything,” explained the “Love and Hip Hop” cast member, as he casually cleaned his pool.
He continued to say in part, “I don’t think family is valued, and we just need to, to just not take things for granted. Tomorrow, next week is really not promised. This world is locked down right now.”
While it is likely his moment of public reflection was intended to inspire others to press pause on the busyness of life and instead be present with those you love, at least one person saw fit to weasel in a comment about his ex, rapper Nicki Minaj.
“Since #nickiminaj left you, and you are not thinking right 😂😂😂😂,” commented the individual, which prompted a response from the first-time father.
“yu want attention b—h but what you should really want is a life. Lemme clean my pool in peace. Street rat🐀”
Others opting to overlook the encounter heeded Samuels’ words.
“Real talk…We lost focus on what matters the most an its really sad.”
“Big facts!! All family is going to be closer by the end of this🙏”
“I totally agree with you😍😍”
“You saying something there sir @safaree✊🏾”
Samuels and his wife of almost one year welcomed their first child together, “Baby Girl Samuels,” in February. Both her name and face have been kept a secret thus far, but both parents swoon over the little one on social.
