Erica Mena and Safaree Samuels are now the parents of a newborn baby girl.
Samuels shared the news Monday on Instagram, and next to a photo of the newborn holding his finger he wrote, “These pass 24 hrs have been an adventure to say the least!! I’m a part of the #girldad club now 🙏🏾. Perfection is here ❤️.”
Then Monday on Instagram Story, Samuels posted a message to his fans and apologized for abruptly leaving an event.
“Sorry to everyone who came out to see me in Rhode Island last night,” he wrote in the post. “But as I was getting ready to leave my wife’s water broke.”
Almost 300,000 people liked the baby photo in the first two hours after it was posted, and of the more than 16,000 comments left, many said they’re thrilled for the couple.
“Finally!!!!!! I was beginning to feel pregnant 😂😂😂. Congrats to you both! @safaree @iamerica_mena little girls are amazing! You have a forever Best-friend Mena, 💕💕” one person wrote.
“Feel like I just became an aunty 😂😍💖,”wrote another.
“Look at the hair no wonder @iamerica_mena was dying of heartburn! Congrats to both!!!” a third person commented.
“Congratulations safaree and Erica the journey to parenthood has begun and I am so happy for you guys,” wrote a fourth fan.
Mena also acknowledged the delivery, and on Sunday she tweeted, “Today’s date is pretty epic. 02/02/2020.”
The “Love & Hip Hop” couple met in 2017 after being cast in the VH1 show “Scared Famous,” and they got engaged on Christmas Eve 2018. They reportedly tied the knot on Oct. 7 of last year, and Mena already has a 12-year-old son named King Conde.
Before Mena was married to Samuels, she was engaged to Bow Wow and dated Rich Dollaz, as well as Cliff Dixon, who was shot and killed in March of 2019.
Samuels and Nicki Minaj were a couple for over 10 years until they parted ways in 2014.
