‘Inspired’: Megan Thee Stallion Talks Going to School Despite Being a Famous Rapper, Reveals Her Post-College Plans

Megan Thee Stallion was a guest on “Strahan, Sara and Keke” this week and talked about wanting to open assisted-living facilities in Houston, Texas, where she’s from.

Despite being one of the most talked-about rappers these days, Megan balances her rap career with taking online classes at Texas Southern University as a health administration major.

“I watched my grandmother take care of my great-grandmother all my life,” said Megan about why she wants to open assisted-living facilities. “When my great-grandmother passed she was 87, and my grandmother that’s still alive is 67. Just watching these two little old ladies take care of each other, I was like, ‘Y’all need some help.'”

Megan also said that she wants to hire college students to work in the facilities, because she knows how difficult it can be for new graduates to find employment.

She then talked about the challenges of balancing a successful rap career with school.

“It’s really hard,” Megan admitted. “School in general is hard, though. But I know my schedule is crazy, because I’m on the road all the time, and I’m rapping.”

“But there are other women who take care of kids and working 9-to-5 graveyard shifts, so I know a lot of people can relate to me,” she added. “Like, when you’re going to school and you’re really dedicated and you really want it, you’re going to figure out a way to make the time to do it.”

After the interview aired and was posted to YouTube, many said how much they admire Megan.

“Wow Megan!! I’m impressed and inspired! Like wow!” someone wrote on YouTube.

“She’s wonderful & spent her life surrounded by wonderful inspiring women,” wrote another fan.

“I really love her personality!” a third person commented. “Very down to earth which is rare these days. Go girl!”

In a 2019 interview, Megan talked about how education and rap share equal importance for her.

“My grandmother was a teacher, and I started when my mom was alive, and I feel like I definitely got to see it through,” she explained. “But it’s for me too. School and my music were, like I said, both of my plan A’s. So I’ve got to see it through.”

In 2019, Megan confirmed that her mother Holly Thomas, who was also a rapper and then became her manager, died from a brain tumor.
