‘Run’: ‘Black Ink Crew: Chicago’ Stars Don and Van ‘Nut Up’ on Each Other Over Charmaine Sex Rumors

It looks like things are unexpectedly coming to a head with good friends Van Johnson and Don Brumfield.

The two swole “Black Ink Crew: Chicago” stars wound up in a heated conversation on Feb. 19’s episode after Johnson confronted Brumfield about spreading the rumor about him and Charmaine Walker allegedly hooking up.

Last season, one of Johnson’s flings claimed that she heard Walker and Johnson having sex. Walker denied the rumor although Johnson didn’t have much to say. Brumfield, however, told producers that Johnson told him Walker performed oral sex on him.

When Johnson came face-to-face with Walker two episodes ago, he apologized for not stopping the rumor at the time it happened. He also denied having any sort of sexual involvement with her and blamed Brumfield for supposedly lying on him.

On the upcoming episode, Johnson and Brumfield meet up to discuss the rumor when things quickly take a turn for the worst. The 9MAG tattoo artist began yelling, “You gone say that I made some s–t up? On what shorties I make s–t up about? I’m asking you a question n–gga! I made s–t up about you?”

Johnson, who stood just inches from Brumfield’s face, shouted, “Bro you gone f–king do that!”

Security quickly surrounded the two costars as they continued to exchange words. “Black Ink Crew: Chicago” fans sounded off with their own opinions.

“Van want nooo smoke what so ever with don 🥴😭💀 he got enough goin on y’all better leave him alone expeditiously”

“I thought they was brothers.. Sad to see them going threw this. All of them are wrong not just about the rumor but how they all turned on van at the end”

“Vanisha wants no smoke with Don big ass! Remember when Don punched in the wall and was like don’t play wit me!? Hell nah Run Van!”

“Don be punching through ceilings and walls but van pushed the soul out of ole boy last season so ionnnn eeen know..!!! They both quick to nut up!”

“Y’all keep saying “Van don’t want none with don”, why because he’s bigger? That don’t mean shit lol💯”

Democracy needs journalism it can trust.

This election season, the stakes are higher than usual — and so is the pressure on newsrooms to soften their coverage, stay quiet, or just disappear. Independent reporting, the kind that answers to readers instead of advertisers or political pressure, matters more in a moment like this, not less.

For over 14 years, Atlanta Black Star has stayed independent and reader-funded. We have no corporate owner and no shareholders telling us what to cover or how to cover it. That independence is also our biggest vulnerability: nothing protects it except readers choosing to fund it directly.

Newspaper ad revenue has fallen more than 80% since 2005, and local newsrooms are closing at a rate of roughly two a week nationwide. When outlets go under in a moment like this, it's rarely the independent, reader-funded ones that get to stick around.

We know a request for support isn't why you came here. But without readers choosing to fund this work directly, the depth of reporting we can do at home and abroad shrinks along with everyone else's. If you're not in a position to give, that doesn't change how much we value you as a reader.

If you are able to, a recurring contribution does more for us than a single one-time gift, because it lets us plan the next investigation instead of just the next invoice. It takes about 30 seconds, no long form, no account. Thank you for continuing to support independent journalism and freedom of the press.
