‘Dream Come True’: David Adefeso Boasts About His and Tamar Braxton’s Love in a Romantic Post

Tamar Braxton and David Adefeso are still going strong in their relationship.

The couple have been dating for nearly two years and appear to be still madly in love with each other. For Valentine’s Day weekend, the financial services firm CEO dedicated a lengthy but sweet post to Braxton. He took to Instagram on Saturday and wrote, “The last 20 months have been like a dream come true. … Through every storm that forms the tide gets stronger, and each wave creates another indescribably memory that lasts a lifetime.”

Adefeso continued, adding that words couldn’t “begin to describe how much” he loved Braxton. “But our memories may help in showing how many ways you complete me. Happy Valentines Day my love ❤️. I love you completely 🥰”

The “Love and War” singer didn’t comment on her boo’s page, as her Instagram account recently has been disabled for unknown reasons, but her fans gushed over their love in his comments section.

“Awwwwwwwww this two! This couple melts my heart. Tamar deserves to be happy and I hope they get married soon. We love & adore you guys. #TrueTamartians 💕🙌”

“The way he looks at her while kissing her!!! Now that’s real❤️🙌🔥 beautiful and blessed this is what real love looks like”

“Yay Love, I’m so happy for you both💕 I love a man who knows a lil about everything and can constantly keep you stimulated. ❣️”

“I love this!! She deserves it! I swear it feel like yal been together for at least five years lol you make relationship super easy. Love is divine. Enjoy forever together 💖”

Braxton publicly announced her and Adefeso’s relationship in April 2019 at the premiere of the “Braxton Family Values” season 6.

Adefeso has said he loves the singer so much that he threatened to cut off his Nigerian family if they didn’t accept her with open arms.

“I informed my family early on that they didn’t have a choice! They either love Tamar the way they love me and accept her the way I accept her….or they risk losing me completely,” Adefeso said via Instagram on Nov. 29. “Needless to say, I needn’t have worried!! My mom treats Tamar like her 4th daughter (I have 3 sisters) and Beans like her 13th grandchild #happythanksgiving  #godblessournewfamily.”

Still independent.

We hope this story was worth your time. For over 14 years, Atlanta Black Star has stayed Black-owned and independently run. We didn't get here by waiting on ad budgets that were never built to prioritize us. Our readers did that.

Corporate support for Black media has always been thin. Outlets like ours get roughly 1% of the $170 billion spent on U.S. advertising each year, and that margin is shrinking further as advertisers walk back the DEI-linked commitments they made in 2020. That's the backdrop. It's not why we're asking.

The wider picture isn't any steadier. Newspaper ad revenue has fallen more than 80% since 2005, and local newsrooms are closing at a rate of roughly two a week nationwide. When outlets go under, it's rarely the ones built to center a Black perspective from the ground up that get to stick around.

We know a request for support isn't why you came here. But without readers choosing to fund this work directly, the depth of reporting we can do at home and abroad shrinks along with everyone else's. If you're not in a position to give, that doesn't change how much we value you as a reader.

If you are able to, a recurring contribution does more for us than a single one-time gift, because it lets us plan the next investigation instead of just the next invoice. It takes about 30 seconds, no long form, no account. Thank you for continuing to support independent journalism and freedom of the press.
