Monica blew away a lot of her Instagram followers after she uploaded a photo of herself in what many called a stylish outfit.
The image shows the R&B star crouching in a checkered black and white jacket with matching shorts. Underneath the jacket, Monica rocks a black tank top, which she couples with a pair of black combat boots.
“I worked hard so that when I ask you to take me somewhere it’s cause I like ya…. NOT cause I need ya… 😜,” wrote Monica next to the post, which she shared on Jan. 19.
Some commented on the singer’s message afterward, others brought up her past songs, and a bunch of people addressed the outfit.
“Gorgeous as always Ms.MD🔥🔥😍,” wrote one of her 8.3 million Instagram followers.
“Best dressed hands down!!!,” read another comment.
“Pop yo shit Auntie 😭😭💪🏾👑” a third fan wrote.
“My Sister So Fly 🔥😍,” another person let Monica know.
Monica also shared a few more photos of herself in that same outfit in separate posts.
One shows her sitting down, and you can see the tattoo she has on her left thigh. The 39-year-old also shared a third photo of herself sitting at the same location, but she flashed a smile in that one.
“Pain hits different when it’s caused by someone you Love…. Be sure you aren’t the one inflicting it or experiencing it 🖤M•D•A•,” she wrote underneath the smiling photo.
At this point, Monica’s fans may be used to seeing her as a single woman, since she hasn’t been with her ex-husband Shannon Brown for quite some time. The Georgia native filed for divorce in March 2019, and their divorce was finalized in October.
In fact, on Jan. 6, Monica let her fans know what she’ll be looking for in a companion when that time comes.
“Them: Monica What are you looking for in a man?
Me: I’m not looking!! When the time comes I just want him to be God-Fearing, Hard Working, Honest, with Principles & Integrity that will never be compromised !!” she wrote next to a photo of herself. “OH, and there’s a height requirement for this ride 😂😜.”
The comments keep coming in under that post, despite it being shared weeks ago. Meanwhile, the photo that showed Monica kneeling in the checkered outfit has been liked over 50,000 times since it’s been uploaded.
