‘It’s Just Hard’: Omari Hardwick Weighs In on French Montana Leaking the Midseason Premiere of ‘Power’

Omari Hardwick weighed in on French Montana leaking a clip of “Power’s” midseason premiere earlier this month. It was a move the Bronx rapper made when he was duking it out with 50 Cent on social media.

Late last month, Montana shared a video of a Bugatti Veyron being delivered to him, which 50 wasn’t too impressed with.

“That’s a 2010 Veyron man, 👀you shoulda just got the Uber app on ya phone 🤦‍♂️it’s 2020 Chiron Man hahaha. Put that bullsh– back on that truck,” 50 wrote on Instagram after seeing Montana’s post.

The “Unforgettable” rapper shot back after that and called 50 a hater who’s out of touch. Fif then responded and said Montana works for Sean “Diddy” Combs and is nothing more than an employee.

From there, Montana blasted 50 for producing a docuseries called “Moment in Time,” where one of the episodes will focus on rapper-turned-government-informant Tekashi 6ix9ine.

Then shortly after that exchange, 50 posted a couple of videos where he can be heard talking to a man who seemed to know about Montana’s Bugatti, and 50 accused Montana of getting a loan to purchase it.

Montana shared the clip of “Power” on Jan. 5 on Instagram and wrote, “BREAKING NEWS ‼️ All you power fans 59 don’t show u who killed ghost tomorrow he still Tryana drag his last piece of power 😂 but here’s the highlight of tomorrow’s episode let me save you a hour of your life 😂🐀 🦖.”

A lot of “Power” fans let Montana have it after that, and they slammed him on social media.

Hardwick — who played James “Ghost” St. Patrick on “Power” — spoke about the leak during an interview on SiriusXM’s “The Clay Cane Show.”

“I had no idea, I missed it,” said Hardwick. “I think it’s just hard for us to be as mad at leakage in an era where everything’s leaked. I mean, we could be mad at that being leaked and that’s perhaps complimentary to what the power of ‘Power,’ pun unintended or intended.”

“Equally, people leaked things on the Saturday when they watched it for the Sunday viewer, when the Sunday viewer was trying to not see what happened,” he added.

“By the time they got to Sunday night, the Saturday people who watch it at midnight were already leaking things and we’re in a social media era,” explained Hardwick. “I don’t know how we avoid [it], whether it’s French Montana or whether it’s John Doe down the street.”

“Power” is currently in its sixth and final season.
