It seems Joe Budden may have put his foot in his mouth while expounding on relationships this week.
Budden and his co-hosts discussed comedian Kevin Hart‘s new Netflix special “Kevin Hart: Don’t F–k This Up” on his podcast this week and of course touched on Hart’s infidelity.
In the comedian’s docuseries, his wife Eniko Hart shared a tearful revelation on how she dealt with her husband cheating on her while she was pregnant. Several people chimed in on the topic including Budden, who said he fathomed why Kevin Hart stepped outside of his marriage.
“He works really hard. I can work harder. Like, I can see how n–gas cheat,” said Budden. “In thinking about how hard he works, sometimes you’re not home but for 10 seconds in the day, for however many days, and I as a man can understand how that can be difficult. I know how I was feeling just going to work however many hours I was going to work and spending very little time at home.”
Although Budden never mentioned his ex-fiance’s name, folks instantly knew he was talking about Cyn Santana, with whom he shares 2-year-old son Lexington Budden.
The 39-year-old seemingly refused to go into depth about cheating, considering that Santana accused him of cheating on her with another woman on this season of “Love and Hip Hop: New York,” after finding inappropriate images on his phone. Budden denied her allegations.
“I like the way that he and his wife and his family and friends even attacked that aspect of things. The cheating,” said the former rapper.
Fans instantly slapped down Budden’s remarks and felt Santana was telling the truth about her ex-fiance’s infidelity.
“So Cyn wasn’t lying 💯,” an Instagram user said. “Joe cheated on all the women he’s been with but I don’t blame Cyn for leaving his ass. I would have too.”
Another added, “I knew Cyn was telling the truth. If she found pics in your phone then he was cheating 🙄”
A third fan added, “Joe you lied about cheating on his Cyn so stfu. Ugh he sounds dumb af.”
Budden and Santana called it quits earlier this year, after getting engaged in December 2018. There’s been speculation the pair are back together, but it has yet to be confirmed. They’re co-parenting their son as of now.
