“Beautiful Reginae here is one of the dates that Ray J happens upon after going through an app,” Vaughn explained. “It’s funny because you don’t know what people are saying on these apps and what’s true and what’s not true. so he picks her, then goes on a date with her, then he’s surprised.”

Carter picked up the conversation from there and said she shares some similarities with her character.

“It’s funny because in some way I can kind of relate to my character because, like, you know, I’m younger and it’s this older dude,” she said. “I don’t want to give out too much, but it’s a twist in it that it’s like wow. This is what’s going on and I can kind of relate to it so I kind of, like, tapped in it. It was good for me.”

That’s when Vaughn got the daughter of Lil Wayne and Toya Wright to talk about her dating life.

“So Reginae, you trying to tell me that you’re going out with older dudes?” asked Vaughn.

“Yes,” Carter answered, which made both ladies burst into laughter.

“Do they know how old you are?” the director followed.

“Yes,” Carter said again.

“Dear Santa, I Need a Date” premieres on Dec. 8, and it also stars Reagan Gomez-Preston, Jay DeVon Johnson, Anne-Marie Johnson, Isaiah Jarel and B. Simone, who also talked about her role in the film with Atlanta Black Star.
