Nene Leakes had a successful weekend in Miami when she hosted her four-day event meant to connect and empower businesswomen, and her husband Gregg Leakes was by her side to support her.
The longtime couple was in The Magic City for Leakes’ first-ever Ladies of Success event for women to support one another in businesses. Leakes shared several photos from day one of the gathering to her Instagram page.

The first set of photos stemmed from a mixer that was hosted at Peter Thomas’ recently opened Bar One Miami location.
“We shut it down for 4 days straight. I been sooooo busy i couldn’t post but if you missed this weekend, you truly missed out!” “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star excitedly wrote in the photo set caption Nov. 12. “A lot of y’all sista’s attended a FREE women’s conference when this black sista put one together you would have charged 🤷🏽♀️ i did it and it was packed with all the right people. The photos saw Nene smiling and laughing with her attendees, but it was an image of her husband standing alongside longtime pal Thomas that captured the attention of many fans.

This time last year was a very different period for the Leakeses. In the fall of 2018, Gregg was hospitalized after undergoing a four-hour procedure stemming from his stage 3 colon cancer diagnosis that May.
“Everybody’s calling asking how he’s doing,” Leakes shared during an Instagram Live stream from her husband’s hospital room. “He is OK. But he’s not, like, the best. Today is a hard day. He’s in a lot of pain … Not a lot I can do. It’s not a lot the nurses can do other than give the pain medicine and he’s just gotta get through it.”
Gregg’s cancer caused the Leakes’ already tension-filled marriage to become even more strained. They even considered getting a divorce for a second time. However, by May, Gregg confirmed he’s cancer-free.
“Our relationship is great,” Nene recently told “Entertainment Tonight” of the current state of their marriage. “We’ve been together forever. I’m with Gregg because I want to be with Gregg.”
