‘U Got the Right One’: Rapper Trina Snaps, Crackles and Pops After White Woman Allegedly Calls Her the N-Word

An explosive confrontation ensued over the weekend at a Florida Walmart after a shopper allegedly hurled racial insults at Miami rapper Trina.

According to TMZ, the “Love and Hip Hop: Miami” star took a shopping trip to the Walmart in Cooper City, Florida, when a white woman she bumped into, yelled at her, “Watch out, you n–ger b–ch!”

Trina immediately flew into a rage, and video shows the “305” rap diva going off on the unidentified shopper.

“Say it the motherf–k again! Say it again! Say it again! Say it the f–k again, you dirty ass b–ch!” Trina said to the woman amid their confrontation. “Say it the motherf–k again. I am a nigger. I am a nigger b–ch. … I dare you to say it.”

Authorities reportedly were notified at the time of the incident, and Trina was escorted out of Walmart to her vehicle by police for “safety” purposes.

Officers reportedly never spoke with the alleged racist woman, who allegedly spewed insults at the “Da Baddest B–ch” rapper.

Trina nor her team have yet to address the incident.

Social media users who viewed the video footage of the rap diva going off on the woman expressed mixed reactions.

“NOWWWW y’all know Hurricane Katrina ain’t nothing to play wit ❗❗❤️ Go awff sis! So tired of MF’s thinking they can say anything to us! I would have done the same!”

“Sometimes you gotta let people know wtf is really good! Period! She did right! Leave Trina alone. We not our ancestors. You will get knocked tf out for speaking reckless 🤷🏾‍♀️ perioddd”

“I cannot believe people are still affected by the n word. Trina doing all that yelling but no fighting. She ain’t about that life”

“U got the right one today! Wtf these rasist just say wtf they want and swear they opposite race is the problem. I see no wrong doing on trina’s part 🤷🏽‍♀️”

Still independent.

We hope this story was worth your time. For over 14 years, Atlanta Black Star has stayed Black-owned and independently run. We didn't get here by waiting on ad budgets that were never built to prioritize us. Our readers did that.

Corporate support for Black media has always been thin. Outlets like ours get roughly 1% of the $170 billion spent on U.S. advertising each year, and that margin is shrinking further as advertisers walk back the DEI-linked commitments they made in 2020. That's the backdrop. It's not why we're asking.

The wider picture isn't any steadier. Newspaper ad revenue has fallen more than 80% since 2005, and local newsrooms are closing at a rate of roughly two a week nationwide. When outlets go under, it's rarely the ones built to center a Black perspective from the ground up that get to stick around.

We know a request for support isn't why you came here. But without readers choosing to fund this work directly, the depth of reporting we can do at home and abroad shrinks along with everyone else's. If you're not in a position to give, that doesn't change how much we value you as a reader.

If you are able to, a recurring contribution does more for us than a single one-time gift, because it lets us plan the next investigation instead of just the next invoice. It takes about 30 seconds, no long form, no account. Thank you for continuing to support independent journalism and freedom of the press.
