‘It’s Been a Long Road’: Porsha Williams Opens Up About ‘Rebuilding’ with Dennis McKinley After Fiancé’s Alleged Cheating

Porsha Williams and Dennis McKinley have been re-engaged since August but while they’re back together, they still have a ways to go to get back to where they used to be.

That’s according to “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star, who opened up about where things stand between her and McKinley recently.

“We’re happy and we’re raising our daughter together,” Williams told Us Weekly. “It’s been a long road, one we’re still on. We’re going day by day rebuilding our relationship and making sure our foundation is where we want it to be to have a strong family.”

That long road began in May when the couple, who welcomed daughter Pilar Jhena’ in March, mysteriously unfollowed each other on Instagram. Not long afterward, rumors surfaced that McKinley had been unfaithful, which he vehemently denied. He also threatened to take legal action over the reports. Still, the couple seemed to be completely over in June.

Williams notes all of that will play out on “RHOA,” which premieres Sunday, Nov. 3, on Bravo.

“Fans will see everything. I think fans like the fact that I’ve always been very honest and transparent, and I definitely had to just dig in and continue to be that way, even though I was going through a hard time,” the first-time mom explained. “Fans will see us in counseling and will see me dealing with real life. A lot of what a lot of people deal with in relationships, they’re going to see on TV — the good and the bad and the ugly.”

The “Dish Nation” host said going through her split from McKinley on camera “was really difficult.” And in a sneak peek of what’s to come on “RHOA” season 12, it appears to take a toll on Williams.

“I’m gonna work it out, but some stuff is not forgivable,” Williams says sobbing to her sister. Viewers will also see Williams and her The Original Hot Dog Factory beau speaking with a counselor. In one session, McKinley seemingly appears remorseful about possibly being unfaithful saying, “I made a mistake.”

Just what mistake that was has yet to be seen. Presently, Williams has gone back to sporting the 13-carat ring McKinley initially gave her last summer. However, she’s stated the couple is not rushing anything after their initial whirlwind romance.

“We’re taking it one day at a time. We’re working on it,” Williams said on “Dish Nation” back in August.
