5 Ways Keyshia Ka’Oir Helped Gucci Mane Glow Up

The adage “Behind every great man there’s a great woman” clearly applies to rapper Gucci Mane and his wife Keyshia Ka’Oir‘s relationship. The model was instrumental in helping her husband turn over a new leaf with his health, finances, fitness and much more. Although the Ka’Oir Cosmetics owner refuses to take credit for the “Trap God’s” lifestyle transformation, their fans feel different. Here are five ways Ka’Oir helped Gucci Mane glow up.

Made Him an Honest Man

The “So Icy” rapper changed his overall lifestyle after being released from prison in 2016. He no longer does drugs or indulges in alcohol. Gucci said his wife was a key factor in helping him change his way of living and becoming even more successful.

“I started linking being married and being responsible with being successful,” he told Charlamagne The God during an interview on October 21. “When she held me down in prison, I said I’m finna marry her. You ain’t gonna find nobody who’s gonna go hard like that.”

Aided with His Fitness

When Gucci was hauled off to prison in 2014, he and his future wife decided to create a daily fitness regime while he was behind bars.

“We’d work out, let’s say from 8 to 10 a.m., and then by the time we shower and have lunch, he’d call.,” the 34-year-old model told The Fader in 2017. “There were days that he would cheat, and then I’m like, You can’t cheat: you’re not like that!”

Gucci lost a total of 50 pounds after he was released from prison. He now plays basketball, boxes, does bicycling and cardio.

Changed His Eating Habits

The 39-year-old rapper no longer eats greasy foods and now has a strict diet. He went from weighing 290 pounds before his recent weight-loss and now weights 190 pounds.

“I eat squash, which I never ate before, along with zucchini; I eat a lot of cashews, peanuts, bananas, apples, and I love salmon and chicken,” he told Vogue magazine in 2016, shortly after his release. “I try to eat very clean, and I drink about 120 to 130 ounces of water a day. I mark everything I eat on a chart so I can keep track of my daily intake.”

Helped with His Intellect

Ka’Oir apparently helped Gucci become a more intelligent man with encouraging him to read more and become business savvy.

The rapper actually wrote his memoir “The Autobiography of Gucci Mane” while in prison for two years. In his book, he talked about changing for the better, writing, “Things had to be different this time. … If I really wanted to start fresh, I was going to have to find closure with everything that landed me here. Maybe I could do that in twenty-four months.”

Increased His Finances

Ka’Oir is most known for helping her husband increase his finances. Before he was placed behind bars in 2014, he allegedly gave his wife two million dollars and she flipped it into six million with her Ka’Oir Cosmetics business and her Ka’Oir Fit.

She told the Cut in Feb. 2018, “Gucci always says, It’s crazy how of a great businesswoman you are, and how successful you are. People don’t know this. … They get a glimpse of it, but they don’t really know how I run my business.”
