Marc Daly is mostly known as the man Kenya Moore ran off to marry in St. Lucia during a 2017 beach elopement. But two years, one baby and one divorce announcement later, not much is known about the man who was never a fan of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” cameras. Here are five facts about the New York City-based owner of the Brooklyn soul food eatery Soco.
Kenya Is Reportedly Not His First Wife
Not long after Moore and Daly issued separate statements saying their marriage is over, a source recently divulged to Love B. Scott that Daly is rumored to have been married before. The restaurateur’s ex-wife supposedly divorced him after only a year of marriage.
He Met Kenya Thanks to a Bravolebrity Mutual Friend
Daly and Moore can credit Chef Roblé Ali for getting on each other’s radar. Ali introduced the pair in June 2016 and they began dating that December.
“When I introduced you two I KNEW y’all would hit it off but this is just WOW!” Ali said on Instagram when Moore revealed the pair tied the knot in June 2017.
He’s a Big Soccer Fan
An avid soccer fan, Daly supports his home team, the New York City Football Club. He wasn’t too pleased when he and his now-estranged wife took in a game between NYC FC and Atlanta United for his birthday, since his team lost the game. Daly has backed the English Premier League Club Arsenal, as evidenced by the little jersey daughter Brooklyn sported in a March photo with her dad.
He’s Got a Philanthropic Spirit
In addition to hosting the Black Man Lab charity event where he and his wife reportedly had a heated confrontation, Daly has devoted his time to other community efforts and causes. Daly is a volunteer coach for the kids Williamsburg Soccer Club in Brooklyn. In March 2018, he along with Moore attended the annual Elton John AIDS Foundation’s Academy Awards Viewing Party, which serves as a fundraiser.
He’s Had Children Before Brooklyn
Not much is known about Daly’s other children, but in a People magazine story where Moore states her hubby is “the best dad,” it’s noted that Daly has had practice, having raised two children before Brooklyn was born in November 2018. The 46-year-old Daly has a teenager and an adult child from what the publication described as a previous relationship.
