50 Cent lives in many worlds all at once, which some might’ve noticed. One day, for example, he’ll be immersed in a rap beef and, whether fooling around or being serious, he’ll lash out at someone.
Then the next day he’ll be seen in a suit and tie running in A-List Hollywood circles while at the same time promoting his show “Power,” which he executive produces.
50 also exists in the world of philanthropy, and he’s given back to the community on more than one occasion. His most recent showing of altruism was seen in Camden New Jersey, where the rapper stopped by Coopers Poynt Family School to give students there free backpacks and school supplies.
The giveaway was reported by ABC 6 Action News on Saturday, and 50 partnered with the clothing company CubanFit to pull it off. He also hung out with the students, took a bunch of photos and played some basketball with them.
In regards to his history of giving back, the 44-year-old started his nonprofit G-Unity foundation in 2003, and once gave a $70,000 grant so kids from the Queens, New York, neighborhood of Jamaica could attend the Summer Stars Camp for the Performing Arts in Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
And in December 2018 he gave $3 million to nonprofits that focus on academic enrichment in low-income areas.
Plus, in March Fif announced that he partnered with the outerwear company Goose Country on a clothing line that would send 5 percent of the proceeds of online sales to his G-Unity foundation, which on a whole focuses on helping those in low-income and underserved communities.
“People thanked the “In Da Club” creator for his donation at the Camden school, and they said it’s just what the city needs.
“That’s what’s up that he’s showing CMD some love ❤️,” someone wrote on Instagram.
“Good sh-t showed the city what we been missing #love and unity,” another person commented.
