‘That’s Not Reginae?’: The Internet Confuses Toya Wright for Her Eldest Daughter in Recent Photo

It looks like “How to Lose a Husband” author Toya Wright apparently has a doppelgänger, and it just happens to be her daughter Reginae Carter.

Earlier this week, Wright’s fans confused her for the 20-year-old after she showed off her trendy fashions in a social media post. The mother of two uploaded a photo of herself posing outside of her Atlanta home in casual attire.

She sported a lime green sweater and jogger suit with a pair of multicolored Puma sneakers. She jazzed up her look with a black purse, silver-toned watch, large hoop earrings and a fleur-de-lis medallion. Similar to Carter’s signature look, Wright wore her hair in shoulder length ringlets and opted for a natural makeup guise.

She wrote in her caption via Instagram, “Good morning 💚.”

At first glance, looking at the 36-year-old’s face, fans immediately mistook her for her eldest daughter.

“Girl I thought you were your daughter 😲. Reginae is your twin girl 💚 u look beautiful”

“That’s not Reginae? Girl I thought you was your daughter at first.”

“You always look so cute Toya ⭐️ for a min I thought this was Reginae”

“Girl your daughter look just like you whew chile! Everything about u is bomb 😍”

Carter and Wright share a close bond with each other despite their different outlooks on certain situations, such as the 20-year-old’s dating life.

Wright welcomed Carter with ex-husband Lil Wayne when she was only 16 years old and didn’t have now-1-year-old Reign Rushing, her second child, until she was 35. She admitted to Kontrol Magazine, in which she was featured for Mother’s Day, that she’s stern when it comes to her daughters.

“My mother didn’t raise me, but she’s always been a loving mother,” Wright said before opening up about being a fairly new mother. “I was a little rusty. It’s been 20 years, but I’m loving it. When I had Reginae I was extremely young and didn’t know the first thing about being a mom. I’m more experienced now.”

Wright expressed in a past interview that she’s open to having a baby boy but said she was fine with her two daughters.
