‘Help Me!: Porsha Williams Seeks Mommy Advice After Experiencing Postpartum Hair Shedding

As much of a natural high that it’s been for Porsha Williams to become a mother, she’s dealing with a low that has her hijacking her daughter’s Instagram account for advice.

The star of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” posted a brief video of her sadly pulling at the sparse hairs she has around the front of her head and even trying to cover up the patch of exposed scalp. Williams is experiencing postpartum shedding and took to Pilar Jhena’s Instagram page to ask fellow moms for advice on how to resuscitate her tresses.

“Ok sooo I had to hack Pj’s page because I know a lot of amazing mommies follow her! So HELP ME ! My edges have fallen out after childbirth! I heard it would happen but I didn’t think it would have snatched mine😩😩😰 What can I do to get them back guys?? I need real mommy tips . And how did y’all wear y’all hair until they came back? 😥” Williams wrote to her baby’s followers.

Tons of advice poured in for the new mom.

Williams’ younger half-sister, Lauren Williams, said the same thing happened to her and Toya Wright, that latter of whom went public last spring about postpartum alopecia or hair loss.

“@toyawright same thing that happened to us😩 @ladytford said it best ‘castor oil, biotin, and time,’” said the “RHOA” star’s sibling.

“@lodwill not time I want them nowwwwww😂,” Porsha replied to her sister using PJ’s account.

Many followers also suggested taking biotin, which is a B vitamin known to help hair, skin and nails, and using castor oil, which many swear by to promote hair regrowth. Others suggested different options, like avoiding tight hairstyles that will pull on the hairline.

“Hey beautiful, pure castor oil on ur edges gets the job done. Nothing else. I’m a mommy of five. 😉❤️”

“Black Castro Oil… Massage on edges daily. Try not pull hair to hard into like a ponytail etc…”

“Jamaican Castor Oil! And it’ll grow back. You look so pretty!!!😍❤️”

“Rice water works miracles. It will definitely grow your hair back plus more.”

“Prenatal vitamins and lots of water.”

Williams is not the only celebrity mom who has dealt with hair loss after baby. As the Bravolebrity star’s sister mentioned, Toya Wright experienced it too, saying on Instagram she “didn’t know why my hair was falling out. I just noticed my edges and the middle of my hair were getting super thin.”

Tamar Braxton has also dealt with postpartum alopecia after giving birth to her son in 2014.

“When u HAVE your baby …(my son) your hair falls out!!” she wrote on Instagram that year. “Thanks to @simplicityhairoil for my hairline coming back! But if it didn’t work I would BUY me some. Glad you all get to see the changes while #bfv & #T&V on T.V.”was
