A photo Cynthia Bailey recently shared on her Instagram page has fans mistaking the reality TV star for singer Ciara.
Bailey, who ventured from Alabama to New York more than two decades ago to pursue modeling, shared a photo of her early days in the vocation.
“spent 4th of July at my mom’s house today & found this old modeling picture. think i was in my early 20’s. this was one of my favorites📸 #20cynt @deasephoto” Bailey, who stars on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” wrote in the caption of the pic she shared last week.
Fans who glimpsed the image as they celebrated their festivities remarked that young Bailey bared a marked resemblance to the “1, 2 Step” singer.
“Beautiful pic! 😍At a quick glance I thought you were @ciara.”
“For a minute I thought it was Ciara…cute pic @cynthiabailey10.”
“I sware i thought this was Ciara!!! Them cheek bones!”
“I maybe wrong but I see Ciara a little in the eyes. Beautiful.”
And it wasn’t just the Atlanta-native performer to which fans compared Bailey’s looks. The star also earned comparisons to Lisa Bonet and Whitney Houston.
“Giving me Lisa Bonet vibes.”
“You look just like Lisa Bonet in this picture.”
“You have always reminded me of Whitney Houston.”
“All types of Whitney vibes! So gorgeous 💕👑💕”
Bailey’s post follows former friend Nene Leakes publicly discussing the star on the Washington-based radio show “The Morning Hustle.”
Addressing the fact that both she and Bailey were present on Bravo’s float for NYC Pride, Leakes said she can be cordial to the model when they film, but that will be the extent of it.
“I do not plan to talk to her,” she said earlier this month. “I feel sorry for her. I can say hello, I can stand beside her, I just ain’t got no convo.”
Beginning to tear into Bailey, Leakes said she believes her ex-bestie fell “victim to doing whatever she need to do to be on the show.” Echoing her Instagram Live stream in March, Leakes continued and said Bailey has “done a lot that people don’t even know about.”
“If we down, we down! Now the producers ain’t gon’ be able to tell me nothing. … They would never be able to come to me and say, ‘You need to turn on Cynthia’ because I’ll be like ‘You know that ain’t gon’ never happen,’” she said.
But, Leakes surmised, producers were able to get to Bailey because “she’s weaker. She’s definitely weak. … She looks really desperate.”
