It’s been about a month and a half since Wendy Williams‘ son Kevin Hunter Jr. was arrested for allegedly punching his father Kevin Hunter Sr. in the nose. And now those charges have been dismissed.
Both men appeared in a New Jersey courtroom on Tuesday where the prosecutor said he spoke to Hunter Sr., and based on that conversation he decided to no longer pursue the case.
“Obviously we have real criminals in West Orange [New Jersey] to deal with,” said the prosecutor. “We don’t need our officers dealing with family squabbles.”
Hunter Sr. also told the judge that he loved his son at one point.
The scuffle between the men came as Williams and Hunter Sr. Are working out their divorce after the talk show host served him with papers in April.
She also fired him as executive producer of “The Wendy Williams Show” and recently told the crowd at the FWD Conference in Charlotte, North Carolina, that she’s taking full control of her career going forward.
The 54-year-old has started dating again, too, and recently revealed that she’s head over heels for a doctor.
Williams filing for divorce came after Hunter was accused of fathering a child with his alleged mistress Sharina Hudson. The TV host wasn’t in the courtroom when the charges on her son were dropped, because she had to tape her show.
As for the two men’s relationship, Hunter Jr.’s attorney Raymond Hamlin said they’re doing just fine and they’re fully communicating again.
“They are laughing, talking and reminiscing,” he told TMZ.
The men were also seen walking into court together and they left together as well.
