Joe Budden and ‘The Read’ Podcast Host Crissle Beef Over Jailed A$AP Rocky’s vs. Past BLM Comments

Joe Budden and host of “The Read” podcast Crissle got into a heated back-and-forth on Wednesday that had to do with A$AP Rocky.

As reported, Rocky is being detained in a Swedish jail at the moment after he was seen fighting with a couple of locals. Prosecutors in that country recently denied the rapper’s appeal for release as well, and unidentified sources supposedly have claimed to TMZ that he’s living in deplorable, “disease ridden” conditions.

In the past couple of days, artists like T.I., Schoolboy Q, Tyler the Creator and Miguel have all said they’d no longer play in Sweden due to Rocky’s treatment, and there’s been a petition started for his release, as well as the hashtag “#JusticeForRocky.”

But on Tuesday Crissle implied that she wasn’t supporting the New York artist because of what he said in a 2015 interview with Time Out about addressing social justice issues. She also posted his words on Twitter.

“They’re not forcing me to do s–t,” said Rocky back then. “I’m just gonna stay black and die. Why, because I’m black? So every time something happens because I’m black I gotta stand up? What the f–k am I, Al Sharpton now?”

“I wanna talk about my motherfuckin’ lean, my best friend dying, the girls that come in and out of my life, the jiggy fashion that I wear, my new inspirations in drugs. I don’t wanna talk about no f–king Ferguson and sh-t because I don’t live over there. I live in f–king Soho and Beverly Hills.”

Budden, however, thought it was wrong for Crissle to bring up the interview and although he agreed that Rocky was wrong, Budden accused Crissle of being evil.

“I don’t like that this is coming up now,” he said on his podcast. “I don’t think it adds anything to the narrative … Nor does it change how I feel. If it changes how you feel, then you should look inside your heart. He’s in a real f-cked up situation over there.”

“That’s so nasty on Twitter,” he added. “But that nasty ass bum ass homegirl, I seen her put it out. It’s just like you n—– that be preaching this pro black sh– but get evil in a heartbeat.”

Crissle shot back after fans told her what Budden said.

“Lmfaoooo I know all about how Budden’s b-tch ass is steam pressed over me and our show,” she tweeted on Wednesday. “N—a oughta be glad I paved the way for him.”

Budden then responded.

“Your show died long ago and you’re in a bunch of bad deals cuz your business acumen is in the trash but I guess cook sis.”

“I am not talking about his goofy ass on my bigger, longer running, more money making, coming to TV this fall show,” Crissle shot back. “He can get these tweets, though.”

Both Joe and Crissle pretty much ceased fire after that, aside from sending a few more shots.
